Changing residence:
When a family stays in
the husbands house
for some time , and
moves to wifes house,
stays there for a
period of time,and
then move back to
husbands parents, or
starts living in another

changing resdidence.
Based on descent :
Matrilineal family-
When descent is
traced through the
female line, or
through the mothers
side,
Thats called
matrilineal family. .
Patrilineal family-
A family in which the
authority is carried down
the male line,
And descent is traced
through the male line or
fathers side, is called a
patrilineal family

Matriarchal family-
In these families, a women
