(a) Consider a product category. What changes have you personally experienced as a
consumer?
I have considered Television in a product category.
Now I tell Television products in Bangladesh changes observed in my personal experience:
1) People’s perception of Television as a luxury item has changed to view it as a necessity.
2) Lot of middle class and above population are slowly shifting towards adopting 2 televisions
per household.
3) The adoption of LCD and LED televisions has been phenomenal in the last decade.
4) The smart TV penetration among the common public has been the highest in the last 3 years.
5) People increasingly use TV’s for purposes other than entertainment as well.
6) During pandemic situation Television becomes main purpose of family entertainment.
7) Public announcement systems and event management organizations increasingly use TV for
their message display.

(b) What is your observation about the rate of such changes occurring in Bangladesh?
1) The rate of adoption of smart TV’s has been the highest in the last 5 years among the changes
observed.
2) The adoption of LED and LCD TV’s are closes second to them.
3) The change in perception of TV as a necessity happened a lot in the beginning of 2010 itself
and it is been established as a norm by 2016-2018.
4) Talking TV as main stream of display for purposes other than entertainment started as recently
as 2018.
5) The population is very slowly moving towards owning 2 TV’s per household and this is the
slowest change out of observed 5 points.
6) In the pandemic situation, 2020-2022 Television became the largest industry.
7) Before people think about the normal one for basic use but now it is showing a class people
who are passionate about their home.
8) The television industry contributes a large amount to Bangladesh's economy.
