BSOA 1 Lesson No. 2

1. How would you reconcile the emerging needs of human beings regarding their health
and the need to protect the growth of biodiversity?

We can reconcile the emerging of human regarding health and the need to protect the
growth of biodiversity by these followings:

 Saving Water
Water conservation is beneficial to the environment. It lowers the amount of energy
needed to treat and transport water, minimizing pollution and preserving fuel resources.
 Help local organic farmers
Local organic agriculture should be supported. Establish small, local farms that
increase food variety, quantity, and quality through polyculture and permaculture
approaches. Reduces the need for transportation, lowering carbon emissions. It improves
food security. Biodiversity is increased.
 Reduce meat consumption
Red meat produces 10 to 40 times the amount of greenhouse gases as ordinary
vegetables and grains. We could feed 800 million people if the grain fed to livestock was
used to feed people.

2. Do you think that Earth can exist without human beings taking care of it or biodiversity
also needs human beings for it to be in a continuous growing process?

Earth will function just well without humans, just as it did for billions of years before
we arrived. It's possible that the planet would be better off without us. The natural world
will reclaim the locations of our civilization once people have left the planet. Skyscrapers
will be transformed into enormous aviaries. Over the course of millennia, roads and
bridges will be buried beneath layers of soil and vegetation. Domesticated animals will
have the most difficult time once humans are gone; we have bred dog and cat species
that will be unable to hunt in order to survive. Within a few generations, other animals will
revert to their wild state.

3. What are small ways that you think would promote safekeeping our biodiversity?

Planting pollen and nectar plants to attract "good" insects, in my opinion, is one of
the simplest methods to ensure that our biodiversity is protected. To keep wetlands
healthy, conserve water and decrease irrigation. It is not a good idea to drain water bodies
on your property. Construct barriers to keep trampling and other disturbances away from
riverbanks and other sensitive areas.
