Benediction of Holy Water

[V: Peace be with you.

R: And with thy spirit.

Let us pray my beloved brethren, that the Almighty Lord God, from whom
proceeds the grace of blessing and consecration, may vouchsafe through
our ministry, to bless and set apart this water for holy use in the service of
his church.]

Kneeling at the altar

Almighty God, Creator of all things, whose hast appointed this Thy
creature, water, to be a symbol of the presence and power of Thy life-
giving Spirit: Sanctify, we beseech Thee, this water, which we bless in Thy
name, that it may be for a sign and symbol of the washing of regeneration
and renewing of the Holy Ghost. And grant that all who come up into Thy
courts, may be reminded of the grace wherein they stand; and, being ever
more sanctified and cleansed in the inner man, they may be kept unto the
day of the appearing of Thy Son, and finally be presented holy and
without blemish before the throne of Thy glory. Hear us, for the sake of
the same Jesus Christ our Lord, Who liveth and reigneth with Thee, O
Father, in the Unity of the Holy Ghost, One God, world without end.
Amen.

Rising the celebrant shall say:

We bless ✠, consecrate ✠, and set ✠ apart this water for the service of the
Church; that it may be a sign and symbol of God’s heavenly grace. In the
name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.

[The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion
of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.]
