Project Description
The Non-Communicable Disease, Health Promotion and
Research Unit has been an active player spearheading the
COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign whereby it was required
to vaccinate the majority of the adult population at the
earliest. The NCD Department was not only able to
conduct its exercise by adopting innovative approaches
but they also achieved their target almost one month
before their schedule.
The Safe City Project has been implemented by the
Mauritius Police Force in a number of sites and this has
helped curb the crime rate in many regions of the
Country. The project is a major innovation for fighting
crime and upholding law and order in the Country.
The Association of Urban Authorities have been a critical
partner in introducing appropriate counter measures in
response to the COVID-19 pandemic and resuming
economic and social activities at the level of different
Municipalities. The teamwork demonstrated has helped
the country in fighting the effects of COVID-19 pandemic.
The establishment of the Spine Unit is a major innovation
in public health services and since its inception it has
provided major relief to patients suffering from orthopedic
and spine injuries. The dedication of the Unit has also
helped to decrease the trauma and difficulties faced by
families by having major surgeries conducted locally
rather that requiring overseas treatment

Mauritius Prisons Service
The Coromandel Fire Station with its Specialised
Operations Division is paving the way for a new Fire and
Rescue Service in the Country. It has introduced novel
technology and equipment which facilitate interventions
in crisis situation
The Municipal Council of Curepipe through the
introduction of the e-procurement system is
strengthening good governance across Local Authorities
while at the same time introducing a better control on
procurement matters at the level of Local Authorities.
The Ebène (Girls) State Secondary School has innovated
in the introduction of an online system to manage courses
and also marking sheets for the students.
The new innovation has gone a long way in showing
Government’s ability to showcase agile solutions using
innovative methods
The Ministry of Housing and Land Use Planning (Planning
Division) has been a main stakeholder in the development
if a new Action Area plan for the management if the buffer
zone adjoining the Apravasi Ghat World Heritage
Property. This new area plan will help reckon the
modernization of the harbor with its cultural heritage.
The Mauritius Prisons Service have been responsive in
adopting innovative solutions for the management of the
prison environment and continuous services provided to
members of the public and prisoners.

Maritime Air Squadron
Project Description
The HR section of the Dr A.G. Jeetoo Hospital has become
a vibrant torch bearer for the digitalization of HR
processes in the Public Service,
They have responded positively and actively to the
digitalization process of Government services.
The Maritime Air Squadron has been to the forefront in
adopting agile and innovative practices to face the
challenges put by the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure a
continued service to all stakeholders including outer
island residents. Through their dedicated work the
squadron has brought major relief to people in difficulties
in Rodrigues and Agalega.
