Dear Atty. Jung,

Greetings Oppa Achi! It is tempting to write to you a personal note but I will
keep this as formal as I can because I want you to use this as a reference
in our succeeding communications.

May I inquire about some legal matters that will help me decide on how to
best handle this predicament that I have been thrust into due to a fraud
perpetrated by my most trusted childhood friends.
To give you a background of what happened: I am the registered owner of
a residential lot, containing a total area of six hundred square meter (600
sqm), covered by Transfer Certificate of Title No. 001-2003000407, located
at 777 Korrah St., Gwangyeok-si Ave., Incheon Metropolitan City. In the lot
stands my residence, a 2-storey residential building which we fondly call,
the “Full House.”

On March 5, 2004, my best friend, Yang Hui-Jin, and his wife, Shin Don-
Uk, convinced me to accept a free travel package consisting of a first-class
roundtrip ticket to Shanghai, China and a 5-day accommodation at The
Peninsula Shanghai. Showing the winning ticket, they told me that I won a
raffle draw sponsored by my bank, Korean National Bank, and that I would
get the ticket for the return flight from a travel agent who would meet me at
the Shanghai Airport. I was initially skeptical about the supposed raffle
draw, but since Yang was an employee of that bank and he was my best
friend, I trusted his word and accepted the travel gift. It turned out that
neither the hotel booking nor return flight was arranged, and I was forced to
borrow from strangers to be able to fly back home. To make matters worse,
I learned that they sold my house while I was out of the country. Yesterday,
the homebuyer, actor Lee Young-Jae, and his brokerage team forced me to
pack my things up and leave my house.

I can forgive my friends for tricking me into taking the trip, but I cannot
afford to lose my house. Its value to me is significantly higher than its actual
cost because it was personally built by my late father.
I wish to obtain your legal services in order for me to reclaim my right
over my own house, but first, please enlighten me on the following legal
queries:

 The broker kept on telling me that the transaction was complete and
legal. May my friends validly sell a house they don’t own, even
without my knowledge and consent?
 Do I have the right to enter my own home and stay there while the
suit is ongoing?
 Does the buyer have the right to stay in my house while the suit is
ongoing?
 Will I sue both the buyer and my friends or just either of them?
 How much do I need to prepare to file the lawsuit, including your
fees?
 How many months does it usually take to arrive to a court decision in
cases like this?

I hope you can help me with these inquiries. I shall call your office
tomorrow to arrange a convenient time for us to meet and discuss how to

First off, no one met me at the airport, and I was not booked in the
supposed hotel. I had to muster all courage to borrow from strangers so I
could come back home because I did not have enough money to cover the
cost of the return ticket.

As a background of this case, my best friend and his wife talked me into
taking a free trip to China, as a “travel gift” given by one of my banks for
“best” customers like me. Since he was an employee of that bank and he
was my best friend, I trusted his word and I took the firstclass trip and delux
hotel accommodation

Aside from the obvious financial reasons, my father has built this house
hence it is extremely important to me.
