Hello

Today I’m Going to talk about what is justice?

The word justice derives from the latin word justicia that means joining or tie. Justice also
suggests the quality of being just, right or reasonable, and also symbolises perfectness.

There are many different types of justice and many different ways that the term could be defined.
And the first questions that came to my mind when I thought about justice were: is justice about
equality? Fairness? Getting what we deserve? Or getting what we need? And why do people talk
about justice all the time?

The main reason people talk about justice all the time is because it’s one of the most
fundamental social, ethical and moral principles that we deal with everyday.
The area of moral philosophy is known as distributive justice.Inside this area are several tips of
justice. For example, some people believe that everyone should get the same kind and amount of
stuff,no matter what, this concept is known as justice as equality.
Although it sounds totally fair,is everyone getting the same stuff really justice? The answer is
no,because I need,or want, different kinds and amounts of stuff than you do.
So there’s also the idea of need-based justice, that says that everyone shouldn't get the same
because our needs aren’t the same, but by this logic, justice is getting based on what we need,so
those who need more, get more. And some say that this make sense, while others argue that it
amounts to favoring some people over others, putting those who happen to not be in need,at a
disadvantage.
However, despite the existence of immense types of justice, such as the example I mentioned
earlier, there is a very important justice in our society, which is social justice, that is a moral and
political construction that represents a way to alleviate and eradicate the effects of social
inequalities.
And now you ask, why is social justice so important to our society?
The answer is simple, Social justice is a fundamental principle of peaceful and prosperous
coexistence among nations.
We are thus able to promote social justice when we eliminate the barriers that people face, for
reasons of gender or related to age, race, ethnic origin, religion, culture or disability. And, If social
justice promotes peaceful coexistence between different individuals that make up the same
society, then it participates in the promotion of peace between nations.
Although for a society to be fair and just it must respect the following principles

● Guarantee of fundamental freedoms for all

● Equitable Equality of Opportunities
● Maintenance of inequalities only to favor the most disadvantaged
But for you to better understand what social justice is, I'm going to show you a simple video.

Finally, I would like to say that one of the main people responsible for the definition of justice was
a philosopher that we have already discussed in John Rawls' classes.
