manager?
For me, the top 3 characteristics of a successful manager are reliability,
excellent communication skills, and time management. Reliability: As a manager, you
are the first point of contact for every employee you supervise. It is critical for your
team's growth and success that you are ready to answer any questions or issues they
may have. While putting out fires and celebrating tremendous accomplishments,
demonstrate that you're trustworthy, honest, and respectful. Excellent
communication skills: Communication is crucial in almost every relationship,
especially for those who work together on a daily basis. Goals, objectives, and any
resources your team may require to meet those expectations should all be
communicated effectively. Also, pay attention to what your team is having trouble
with and how to properly devote time and learning to overcome that growth
stumbling block. Time management: Managers schedule their staff in order to meet
predetermined objectives. Make realistic weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly
goals for your staff. Watch for signs that your staff is a little more stressed than usual
by the end of the work week or even the month.
