Economically backward section of the society - Target Group (Okhla mandi)

QUESTIONS ASKED AND ISSUES ADDRESSED –

 Adulteration in any of the product that they have bought.


 Any action taken against adulteration.

LEGAL AID GIVEN AND ADVISED –

 Check the expiry dates of the product which they were buying.
 They can contract the FSSAI i.e., food safety
 They can contract the standards authority of India which is a statutory body, related to
food safety and regulation in India, though an online platform called “food safety voice”
 They can reach out to consumer court which work for consumer grievance and they can
reach out if in case they want to file a case.

OBSERVATION -

 Initially, People were not mixed with us but later as we proceeded more into streets of
Okhla Mandi people started connecting with us.
 Predictably, the Economically backward section of the society did not know about Free
Legal Aid and how to take benefit from it.

CONCLUSIVE LEGAL ADVICE TO TARGET GROUP –

 Not to stay silent on misleading of advertisements, made them aware about checking the
quantity of the packaged product before buying though they had the right to be informed.
 Made aware and encouraged these ppl that an advocate will be there in Jamia Hamdard
every Thursday (10 am to 4 pm) who will solve their legal queries.
