LOGISTICS AND WAREHOUSING:

Logistics refers to the overall process of managing how resources are acquired, stored, and
transported to their final destination. Logistics creates time utility (Products are delivered at the
right time) and place utility (Products are delivered at the desired destinations or locations).
Junaid Jamshed (J.) has its own logistics. As we know that Junaid Jamshed has expended
worldwide. Then internationally, their mode of transportation Aero-plane and national wide their
mode of transportation is Motor carriers (Trucks) which carries stock from one place to another.
The cost of outbound transportation incurred by sending material from a facility. Junaid
Jamshed (j.) has only two warehouses. They own their warehouse privately. It will be helpful to
reduce the cost of warehouse and offers greater control.

MAJOR PROBLEMS WITH LOGISTICS:

1. DELAY DELIVERY

 Junaid Jamshed delay customer orders their leading time is greater than 7 days because
the logistics for domestic outlets (except Karachi outlet) is carried by third party
logistics and for Karachi outlets they have their own transportation and warehouses.
They should have more warehouses in different areas/cities to reduce the lead time of
delays. They should use warehouse location strategy “Market-positioned strategy” in
which their location of warehouse will be close to customers.

2. CARGO DAMAGE:

 J. is operating their business across the Pakistan but they have a centralized warehouse at
Karachi and no any warehouse out of the Karachi that’s why it causes many times cargo
damage. To avoid cargo damage they should hire certified crane operators and train their
staff.
