The comparison and Analysis of Big Data challenges confronted by National

Libraries ‘of SAARC Region countries.

Concepts:

Big Data

Big data refers to data sets that are too large or complex to be dealt with by
traditional data-processing application software. Data with many fields offer
greater statistical power, while data with higher complexity may lead to a higher
false discovery rate.

Big data analysis challenges

Big data analysis challenges include capturing data, data storage, data analysis,
search, sharing, transfer, visualization, querying, updating, information privacy,
and data source. Big data was originally associated with three key concepts:
volume, variety, and velocity.

Objectives of study:

The study is aimed to analytically analyze the Big data challenges faced by of
NationalLibraries in Asia or SAARAC.

The specific objectives of the study are to:

1. Critically analyze the challenges faced in process of data capturing and data
storage by NationalLibraries‘of SAARC Region countries.
2. Evaluate the challenges faced in process of data analysis by
NationalLibraries‘of SAARC Region countries.
3. Analyze the issues confronted in process of search related to sharing,
transfer, visualization and querying by NationalLibraries‘of SAARC Region
countries.
4. Identify the cyber security concerns of National Libraries‘of SAARC
Region countries.
5. Analyze the challenges faced in process of data source updating, by
NationalLibraries‘of SAARC Region countries.
6. Evaluate the process of information privacy adopted by National Libraries
‘of SAARC Region countries.

The comparative study and investigation in to Cyber Security safety measures

Challenges faced and adopted by National Libraries of SAARC Region
Countries.

Concepts:

Cyber security is the application of technologies, processes and controls to protect

systems, networks, programs, devices and data from cyber-attacks. It aims to
reduce the risk of cyber-attacks and protect against the unauthorized exploitation of
systems, networks and technologies.

Objectives of the study:

1. Identify threats and vulnerabilities of National Libraries‘of SAARC Region

countries against Cyber threats.
2. To find out the possible measures that can be put in place to maintain the
integrity against data of users and disruptoperations.
Secure.
3. To investigate the measure put in place by National Libraries‘of SAARC
Region countries to ensure safety of user data from cyber-attack.
4. To analyze the measure put in place by National Libraries‘of SAARC
Region countries to ensure safety of organizational data from cyber-attack.
5. To find out the control programs used by National Libraries‘of SAARC
Region countries as cyber security measures.
6. To evaluate employee behaviors toward information security.

Cyber Security: The study of the measure adopted for safety of user and
organization data by National Libraries‘of SAARC Region countries.

Concepts:

Cyber security is the application of technologies, processes and controls to

protect systems, networks, programs, devices and data from cyber-attacks. It
aims to reduce the risk of cyber-attacks and protect against the unauthorized
exploitation of systems, networks and technologies.

Objectives of the study:

In order to achieve this aim, the following objectives were identified:

1. To find out the possible measures that can be put in place to maintain the
integrity of cyber Security.
2. To investigate the measure put in place by National Libraries‘of SAARC

Digital Curation of Records in the Cloud toSupport E-government

Services In Pakistan with a view to help public and enhance efficiency of
institution.

Concepts:

Digital Curation

Data curation is the organization and integration of data collected from

various sources. It involves annotation, publication and presentation of the
data such that the value of the data is maintained over time, and the data
remains available for reuse and preservation.

Data Curation model

Objectives of the study:

The purpose of this study is to explore digital curation of records in the

cloud to support E-government services Pakistan. The specific objectives
were to:

1. Analyse policies and legislative frameworks used for records storage in the
cloud in order to support e-government services.
2. Determine if the public sector entrusts records in the cloud storage.
3. Analyse the public sector’s view on digital preservation of records in the
cloud.
4. Determine the processes followed to dispose of records in the cloud.
5. Propose a framework that guides curation of records in the cloud in Pakistan.
