Scholarship Research

Here are a few fun facts before you begin your scholarship research:
● About two-thirds of full-time students receive some type of financial aid
● In 2012-2013, the average gift aid per student was $5,750 for full-time undergrad student attending a
public 4-yr university & $15,680 for full-time undergrad students attending a private, non-profit 4-yr
university
● BEWARE! Scholarship fraud is on the rise!

Directions: You must find 10 scholarships that you would qualify to apply to. The scholarship can either be a
general scholarship or a scholarship associated with one of the colleges that you are interested in applying
to. Each Scholarship Entry must be detailed and include all of the information for the scholarship. If
you do not include all the information, you will lose points. This will be your “cheat sheet” in your senior
year to help you apply for scholarships!

BEWARE of scholarship SCAMS! In general, be wary of scholarships with an application fee, a matching
service that “guarantees” success, or scholarship applications that require very sensitive information (e.g.,
social security number or bank account information). Find tips to avoid scholarship scams here.
