Speaker 1 (00:00)

If I were you, I would take her to the biggest library in the world and tell her that all these books could not
contain your love.

Speaker 2 (00:14)
Hi. Welcome to the Disney Princess Club. I'm Melissa.

Speaker 1 (00:18)
And I'm Grace. Today we'll be talking, talking about kindness.

Speaker 2 (00:21)
And since it's the Beauty and Beast's 30th anniversary, we'll be watching clips from the movies to inspire
us with a list of ways that you can be kind.

Speaker 1 (00:29)
Kindness goes a long way, but sometimes it's hard to remember to be kind. Or sometimes we don't know
how to be kind.

Speaker 2 (00:35)
Yeah. For example, just because you aren't being mean to someone doesn't necessarily mean that you're
being kind.

Speaker 1 (00:42)
Let's get into the list so we can explain further.

Speaker 2 (00:45)
Good idea.

Speaker 1 (00:46)
Now we just want to say these acts of Kayas aren't the only ways to be kind, and none of them are more
important than the other.

Speaker 2 (00:54)
Okay, number one, accepting people's differences. This is very important. We all look different, come
from different places, and have had different experiences. So in a way, we're all different to someone.
Speaker 1 (01:07)
I thought it was awesome that Belle didn't make the Beast feel bad for not drinking the soup the way she
accustomed to drinking it. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:14)
Instead, she adapted to a way that would make him feel most comfortable. Do you think it's hard to
accept people that are different from you?

Speaker 1 (01:20)
Not at all. Because what makes you different is what makes you unique.

Speaker 2 (01:24)
Wow. That's a good point, Grace. I think it's really fun to meet new people because we can learn so much
from each other. Now for number two, being supportive.

Speaker 3 (01:33)
I'll never get this bonered at conception to work.

Speaker 4 (01:36)
Yes, you will. And you'll win first prize at the fair tomorrow and become a world famous inventor.

Speaker 3 (01:44)
You really believe that?

Speaker 4 (01:46)
I always have.

Speaker 2 (01:47)
Everyone goes through times when they don't feel their absolute best. Sometimes in those situations, all
you need is someone to support you.

Speaker 1 (01:55)
Supportive means when you give comfort, encouragement, or advice to someone. Belle's father was
frustrated because his invention wasn't working.

Speaker 2 (02:03)
So in comes Belle. She encourages her father and reminds him that she always believes in him and that
she knows he could fix this machine and win first prize at the fair.

Speaker 1 (02:11)
And that's exactly what he needed to hear. Yup.

Speaker 2 (02:15)
Because right after that, he was inspired to fix this machine and get it to work.

Speaker 1 (02:18)
Especially at times when you feel like you can't do anything to help someone, being supportive is just as
kind and helpful. Now for number three, giving good advice.

Speaker 3 (02:29)
I'm not sure I can do this. You don't have time to be timid. You must be bold, daring, bold, daring.

Speaker 1 (02:39)
Sometimes we get frustrated or scared when we don't know what to do. That's when getting good advice
from someone we can trust can be a huge help.

Speaker 2 (02:47)
Zeb doesn't listen to a lot of people or things, but he trusts Lemur as a friend. So when he felt like he
couldn't be brave enough to tell Belle how he felt about her, he turned to Lamir for help, and Lemure gave
him some tips on how to go about it.

Speaker 1 (03:01)
Lamar was the perfect person to give advice because he had experience and love. But The Beast, he had
it. If I were you near, I would.

Speaker 2 (03:10)
Have said.

Speaker 1 (03:14)
If I were you, I would take her to the biggest library in the world and tell her that all these books could not
contain her.
Speaker 2 (03:23)
What are some ways you give good advice to your friends?

Speaker 1 (03:26)
Well, it's very important to ask if they want good advice. First, give them some encouraging words like,
you can do anything, you're strong, you can do it. What about you, Alyssa?

Speaker 2 (03:37)
I give advice to my friends on a lot of things, like books to read, movies to watch, and even how to make a
good sandwich. But I only give advice on things I know a lot about.

Speaker 1 (03:46)
I love to get some advice about making my sandwiches later.

Speaker 2 (03:50)
Totally. You got to add a lot of cheese. Okay, number four, giving gifts.

Speaker 4 (04:04)
Now can I open them?

Speaker 3 (04:06)
All right.

Speaker 2 (04:17)
Giving someone a gift is one of my personal favorite acts of kindness. It doesn't have to be expensive or
new. It can just be something from the heart that you know the person will appreciate.

Speaker 1 (04:26)
It could make someone's day if you give them a box of their favorite.

Speaker 2 (04:30)
Snacks, or if you handmake a card with their favorite animals on it.

Speaker 1 (04:33)
Or, in Bell's case, getting full access to a library. She loves to read. It's, like her favorite thing to do, and
the Beast knew that, so he got her a full library. That was so kind of him. What makes gift special is when
you think about the person, what they like, or what they need. I was inspired to give my own gift. Alyssa,
check behind your pillow. Really?

Speaker 2 (04:57)
Are you sure, Grace?

Speaker 1 (05:00)
Oh, my gosh, Grace, this is amazing. Wow. I love it so much. Thank you. You're welcome. I know you like
figuring things out, so I bought you a Lego set to build.

Speaker 2 (05:13)
Oh, Grace, it's so kind and thoughtful of you. I actually have a gift for you, too. Check behind your pillow.

Speaker 1 (05:20)
Really?

Speaker 2 (05:21)
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:25)
Alyssa, thank you so much. I know you love dancing bells.

Speaker 2 (05:30)
One of your favorite princesses, too. So the way her skirt spins around, it reminds me of how you spin
your dancing.

Speaker 1 (05:39)
Alyssa, it does look like when I'm dancing. Thank you so much. I think we should thank our parents later
for helping us set up the surprise. Yeah, I thought you might like a spot of tea, but you're.

Speaker 2 (05:54)
Number five.

Speaker 1 (05:55)
On our list is being helpful. Sometimes you don't realize you need help until someone offers. Then you're
like, wow, that was helpful.
Speaker 2 (06:06)
Being helpful means being useful whether it's giving someone something that they need or offering your
own services.

Speaker 1 (06:11)
If you see someone holding a lot of stuff and you're able to help them, that is very kind of you.

Speaker 2 (06:17)
Like a cute, tiny little chip offering himself up to help out drink some tea.

Speaker 1 (06:21)
Yeah, that was pretty cute and helpful. What I like to do to help is I help my mom make dinner sometimes
because she does a lot for me and I want to show that I care.

Speaker 2 (06:31)
That's so kind of you, Grace. I love helping my brother fix his room because he makes mess a lot, but
he's so nice to me and he's one of my best friends, so I want to show him that I care for him.

Speaker 1 (06:44)
That's really nice of you, Alyssa.

Speaker 2 (06:47)
Last on our list.

Speaker 1 (06:48)
Number six. Giving compliments. That was a very brave thing you did, my dear.

Speaker 2 (06:55)
We all think so. Giving a compliment is applied expression of praise or admiration. I like your hack, right?

Speaker 1 (07:02)
Yeah, that's a great example on how to give a compliment.

Speaker 2 (07:06)
No, I really do like it. Wait.

Speaker 1 (07:10)
I still have it on. I thought I took it off. It's so comfy I forgot it was on. Bell was very brave to do what she
did. So I'm glad Mrs. Potts acknowledged that because that's what Belle needed to hear.

Speaker 2 (07:22)
I like giving compliments because it makes me feel so happy to see them looking happy. And maybe it
just made their day.

Speaker 1 (07:30)
We covered quite a few ways to be kind today.

Speaker 2 (07:33)
Yeah, and there's a whole bunch of other ways to be kind. These are just some of our Goto's.

Speaker 1 (07:39)
We talked about being helpful, being supportive, accepting people for your differences, giving gifts, giving
good advice and giving compliments.

Speaker 2 (07:48)
I hope our list was helpful. Wait.

Speaker 1 (07:51)
Helpful was actually honorless.

Speaker 2 (07:54)
That's right.

Speaker 1 (07:55)
Well, that's all the time we have for today. Thank you so much for watching this episode.

Speaker 2 (07:59)
I'm Grace and I'm Melissa always remember to be kind. Until next time. Bye.
