Abstract
Digital technology and microprocessor has been developing quickly. The digital devices work rely with
microprocessor and microcontroller as its data processing center. Therefore, it is important to has knowledge in
microprcessor and microcontroller technology. In the reality, it found that students have low enthusiasm in
hardware programming especially microcontroller. Based on the interview results, it indicated that the subject
of microcontroller programme was difficult by the majority of student of Polytechnic LP3I Medan. The low
motivation to learn, de-motivation learning method, as well as inadequate availability of equipment become the
reason of student perceptions. The objective of this research was to design and create Veneido, as a electronic
handheld games with microcontroller Atmega8 based. The handheld games was design by using Dick and Carey
method (analyzing-design-develop-implement-evaluate). The Veneido was designed with integrating the
hardware and software. This design can be used to creat a basic programme and modification programme. In
addition, a programme such as Bouncing ball can be used as a learning programme model for algorithm.
Veneido and Eido were expected to develop the interest and talent of students.
4. KESIMPULAN
Dari hasil penelitian yang telah
dilaksanakan, dapat disimpulkan beberapa hal
sebagai berikut :Perangkat permainan
elektronik genggam sederhana yang dapat
diprogram ulang, telah berhasil dibuat
menggunakan mikrokontroler sebagai pusat
pengendali dan pengolahan datanya.Algoritma
permainan Bouncing Ball telah diselesaikan
dan berjalan dengan baik pada perangkat
Veneido.Alokasi memori program untuk
permainan tersebut adalah sebesar 1,148
Kbyte. Mengusung memori Flash sebesar 8
MByte, SRAM sebesar 1 Mbyte dan EEPROM
sebesar 512 Byte, mikrokontroler ATmega8
memiliki kapasitas yang sesuai untuk
menampung sebuah program permainan
elektronik genggam sederhana.
