There is no denying that some of the best athletes and musicians have natural
talents that help them to be better than most, but is that the main reason why? Talent does
help them to be some of the best, but it is their hard work added to their talent that
separates them from everyone else. Talent is definitely needed to be majorly successful,
Working hard is more important than just having natural talent, for those who
work harder and longer than others become more successful for, more practice equals
more success, and one can only find and fix his mistakes there many hours of hard work.
Some hard-working individuals can develop a certain talent or skill, which can imply that
natural gift is just the result of long and hard work. Many influential people around the
world were able to achieve their status by working really hard behind the scenes. For
Example, Michael Jordan didn't make his high school varsity basketball team the first
time he tried out. Michael didn't let that stop him instead he used that as fuel to work
harder. Now look at him he is the best basketball player in NBA history and, the first
basketball player to ever earn one billion dollars. There are countless jobs that qualify as
one of the "hard work" types of jobs. Those who work in construction, firefighters,
police, mailmen, and the military are just a few. However, there are countless other jobs
that it took a lot of hard work to get into as well. The CEO of Amazon didn't just
magically show up in that position one day. Lawyers consistently push themselves to
make sure they have all of the facts they need for their cases which requires a lot of hard

work. Doctors and nurses have to refresh or research new methods in order to keep up to
date in the medical world. Some people use their natural talents to excel in their positions
that still require a lot of work. The head accountant who happens to be good at numbers
still has to complete all of his paperwork while taking care of all of the other duties his
job demands. Someone who's naturally good with words could be an editor who spends
half of her life trying to make articles or books perfect. You can consider talent as fuel for
the fire that will kick-start you towards success. It makes things easier for you to get
going from the start. But, if you have talent but do not work hard, things do not go the
way you would expect to be. Remember, people who work hard without the talent can
succeed more than talented people who just stick to the mediocre. There are a lot of
people with talent who just wasted their gifts and did not work hard to support
themselves. Even those who are already well-known or famous have faded into the
background when really hard-working and skillful individuals come into the scene. This
boils down to work ethics and the amount of effort one is willing to exert for something.
Talent may give someone the upper hand to succeeding, but the ability to work
hard is what is most important. Someone can train hard and become successful, but they
cannot just be talented and never work because then they will just lose their talent.
Without hard work a talent is useless, and people without talent can work hard enough to
become as good as the talented. Hard work gives people the determination to keep
working even harder and teaches them discipline. Overall, working hard is much more
