My Career plan for a film editor

Interview skills
Done:
-Went to take part in a face-to-face interview and succeeded with feedback on any further
inquiries.
-practised at home before the interview a couple days before to ensure there were as little
mistakes as possible
To Do:
-there are many places to help strengthen your interview training, be sure to investigate a
few courses that might help you with this
-through this method you can also plan more interviews, practise with people or even with
yourself in the mirror and ensure that before your interview you have plenty of questions to
ask
Attention to detail
Done:
-I can use to an intermediate level Photoshop, Adobe and In design as I have similar
experience in previous project that I completed such as my Unit 14 magazine work and my
Unit 10 short film sequence.
- I can script and visualise the creative aspects of my projects and direct a crew to finding
talent suitable for the role as well as individually conduct the editing of both pieces
throughout multiple platforms.
To do –
Continuing practicing using these editing programs in order to grow my skills further, to be
able to conduct more challenging tasks such as audio blending and transitions
Communication skills
Done:
-I can confidently admit to my own errors and can listen well to the suggestions of others.
Whilst on work experience, I was part of a team that helped each other out with the task
provided
To do –
Improve my ability to speak to people on my team who are older than me and focus more
on getting more involved in team-based projects
IT skills
Done:
-in my experience I am able to use different types of editing software as well as the standard
Microsoft platforms such as PowerPoint, word and excel. I was able to demonstrate my skills
through various projects such as my short film and music magazine cover where I was
required to use both photoshop and Final Cut Pro. As well as learning how to use these I
also was able to learn along the way how to use InDesign for my magazines article.
To do-
Further improve my skills in all areas that also included the standard software’s like
Microsoft and Excel as I still struggle to get my tasks present and structured the way I want
them to be.
Knowledge of Equipment
Done:
-I have an intermediate level of knowledge with the equipment as I needed to learn how to
use them when creating my film or magazine cover.
To do-
Further improve my knowledge by getting other experience rather than the ones discovered
alone.
