The title of my favorite movie is "Life is Beautiful" and it's an Italian movie from 1997 that
tells the story of a father and his fight to protect his family during World War II, and which
stars Roberto Benigni as Guido, Nicoletta Braschi as Dora, Giorgio Cantarini as Giosuè,
and Horst as Dr. Lessing.

The film began with Guido, who was a very charismatic young man of Jewish origin who
fell in love with Dora, a young teacher who was engaged to another person, meanwhile in
the country, the Nazi party was gaining more and more strength. Guido decides to joke with
the regard. As the story progressed, Guido befriended a doctor named Lessing, as they both
shared a penchant for riddles. During Dora's engagement party, Guido confessed his
feelings for her, and both decided to elope together that same night. Years passed, and
Guido and Dora got married and had a son named Giosuè. They lived happily despite the
war. Guido owned a bookstore, and Dora was working as a teacher. However, their
happiness didn’t last long since Guido and Giosuè was arrested by the Nazis who were
about to take them to a concentration camp, at that time Dora asked to be taken with them
despite not being Jewish, and the Nazis agreed, taking the whole family.

They were arriving at the concentration camp where they were separated between men and
women, and the children who were considered unable to work were sent directly to the gas
chambers, because of that Guido decides to hide his son, and to calm him down, he
invented a story that they were in that place playing a game in which the prize was a real
tank, and the rules were to stay hidden and be as discreet as possible, Guido managed to
trick Giosuè to keep him safe, and away from the dangers that there were.

Then Guido met his friend from the past, Dr. Lessing, but Guido would run into the cruel
reality when he realized that the doctor wouldn’t help them escape from there despite being
good friends. Later a great mobilization began in the concentration camp because the war
had ended, and the Allies were approaching the place, so the Nazis had decided to kill all
the prisoners before escaping. At that time Guido told Giosuè to hide for a while. Things
didn’t work out, and Guido is intercepted by a Nazi who shot, and killed Guido.

The next day in the morning there were no more German soldiers, Giosuè then decided to
come out of hiding to meet the allies, and a tank that accompanied them which Giosuè
believed was his prize for winning the game, the soldiers pick up Giosuè, and while he was
being evacuated, he looked at his mother Dora from among the other prisoners, and thus the
film ended.
