EXPERIENCE
9/2021- Present USF Trail Blazer Researcher, USF-INTO Learning Consultant
Trail Blazer Grant: Conducting research around positive youth development and college student purpose, with
Educational Psychology faculty mentor. As INTO’s Public Speaking Bridge program learning consultant, prepare
international students for higher education public speaking, assist in outlining/drafting presentations and conducting
library research, in addition to teaching 3-4 Bridge class sessions per week.
8/2017-12/2019 Adjunct Faculty & Residential Education Faculty Fellow, University of South Florida
Served as an adjunct faculty member within the Department of World Languages, and was selected as a Residential
Education Faculty Fellow at USF, bringing academic and cultural programs to living-learning community residents. Also,
currently coordinate the Residential Education Adult ESOL Program for facilities staff members, which included
designing and teaching citizenship courses, and training/supervising classroom teachers and tutors.
5/2011-1/2012 Southwest Florida Addiction Services (Solas Care), Vince Smith Center
Facilitated challenge and goal setting program for youth in residential treatment program, completed sobriety coaching
certification.
7/2009-5/2011 ESE Coordinator & Guidance Counselor: RCMA Immokalee Community School
Coordinated Exceptional Student Education (special needs) programs and served as a migrant-dedicated charter schools’
district contact in Southwest Florida. Worked with parents and community to plan cultural events utilizing global
citizenship curriculum and media tools. Implemented ESOL support and testing in coordination with students’ IEPs,
primarily working with the Assistant Principal in charge of curriculum and instruction.
Experiment in International Living: Trip Leader/Educator, Spain and Germany (Summers 2009-2011)
Led 6-week international language learning trips for high schoolers or gap year students, which included host family
language immersion paired with academics in Germany, as well as cultural and academic focuses in Spain.
7/2005-3/2007 International Student Activities Director, EAL Faculty Member: Juniata College, PA
At a small liberal arts institution, organized and implemented orientation activities for all new international students
throughout the semester. Also advised incoming international students, assisting with orientation and successful transition
to 4-year American collegiate system, and taught 1-2 EAL (English for Academics) courses per semester.
8/2003-6/2005 Upward Bound STEM Teacher and ResLife Community Director: Michigan State University
UB high school to college transition program; participated in all aspects of university advising and orientation, connecting
students to academic resources across campus, assistance with college admissions applications/essays, and teaching two
STEM (Chemistry, Biology and Math) classes. Also, served as Residential Community Director in living-learning
communities; International, Honors and Spanish language immersion.
8/2001-6/2003 Peace Corps Service: IBDP High School Teacher: Liceu Octovian Goga, Sibiu, Romania
Taught subject-based EFL; history, culture and theater as part of an international bilingual high school. Organized
learning-based field trips and team building games. Secondary projects included women’s health organization working to
combat human trafficking and assisting with administration of Girls Leading Our World Camps.
