I would like to thank my respected teacher, Prof. Rakesh Nambiar, for not only allowing me to acquire new
information regarding nonverbal communication in the legal arena but also for allowing me to develop and
discover my own talents.

My family's contribution in the completion of this research paper is of great importance as they helped me with
their ideas along with all the materials I needed to complete the research paper. Finally, I would like to express
my sincere gratitude to my friends who helped me in the completion of this project.
INTRODUCTION

The idea that people are organised into "social networks" is much older than the internet, coming from
Milgram's (1967) Small world study conclusions that people are only "six degrees of separation" apart. A social
network is currently more generally referred to as a Social Networking Site, which is an online space designed
primarily for interpersonal interactions (SNS). This is a place to re-connect with old friends, develop new
contacts, and broaden one's social circle. In the business sphere, Social networking site has garnered a lot of
attention. Companies use it to promote themselves, sell products, connect with customers, and, more recently,
monitor their personnel as well as attract and screen potential employees. Social networking sites are becoming
more and more important in the field of recruitment. The major aim of businesses when it comes to hiring
personnel is to save money and time, but these savings should not be at the expense of potential employees'
quality. The challenge of how to cut expenses while maintaining applicant quality could point to the clever use
of social media, where people can divulge more information to a recruiter during a job interview than the
recruiter can ordinarily find out. Employee recruitment using social media is popular in the United States
(O'Shea, 2012). It's a relatively recent difficulty for the Czech labor market. This study focuses on the influence
of social media on HR departments in firms while hiring new personnel. Its purpose is to investigate if social
media has the ability to completely transform the human resources profession and become a full-fledged job
search and recruitment tool. Alternatively, if they can advance HR in any manner, they may be able to substitute
popular programmes like jobs.cz, prace.cz, and others, which now dominate the Czech HR business.

LITERATURE REVIEW

Social Media Adoption, Usage and Impact in Business-To-Business (B2B) Context,

Yogesh K. Dwivedi, Elvira Ismagilova, Nripendra P. Rana, & Ramakrishnan Raman

Social media has a huge role to play in the digital transformation of businesses. The goal of this research is to
figure out how B2B companies use social media. The current study examines the influence of social media, as
well as social media tools, usage, adoption, and roadblocks, social media strategy, and evaluating the efficacy of
social media use. This study contributes to a helpful synthesis of relevant literature in the B2B setting by
analyzing, weighting, and addressing the most important results from current social media research. The
findings of this study can be used to help academics and practitioners understand social media better.

A Literature Review on the Impact of Social Media Platforms on Small and Medium
Enterprise (SMEs) Development, Amoah, John

The influence of social media platforms (networks) on Small and Medium Businesses is examined in this article
(SMEs). The importance of SMEs to the growth of many developed and developing nations in terms of job
creation and contribution to GDP cannot be overstated (GDPs). Social networking has swept the globe, ushering
in a new age in company operations. The arrival of the Smartphone has had a considerable impact on SMEs'
decisions to use social media platforms (networks) in business operations. Despite the increased interest in this
field of study, there are still information gaps that can be filled with more research. As a technique, this study
used a qualitative approach, especially document analysis. Keyword searches in the SCOPUS, WoS, and Google
Scholar databases were utilised to create scientific articles. The theoretical implications of this article would
contribute to the present body of knowledge in this subject and serve to address a research gap. The conclusions
of this article will aid SMEs in gaining a sufficient understanding of the many social media platforms available
to them, as well as how those platforms might help to their success. The study serves as a basis for future
research because it is only a literature review.

on the Evaluation of Job Candidates. Cyberpsychology, behavior and social networking.

The goal of this research was to examine how the content of social networking Web site (SNW) pages
influenced how other people viewed job candidates. Students (N = 148) evaluated hypothetical candidates for a
managerial post at the entry level. With résumés ranging from minimally qualified to extremely qualified for the
post, a 2 x 4 design was chosen. The control group received no information from the Web, whereas the SNW
printouts showed (a) an emphasis on drinking alcohol, (b) a family orientation, or (c) a professional orientation
participants in a control group received no Web page information. Candidates with a family-oriented or a
professional-oriented SNW page were perceived as more fit for the job and more conscientious than applicants
with an alcohol-oriented SNW page, in addition to a major influence for résumé quality. They had a better
chance of being interviewed. They were also more likely to be offered much greater starting salary if they were
hired. The consequences of the findings for both managers and candidates are examined.

Social Media in the Workplace and Its Influence on Employee Productivity, Vinay
Prajapati
Social media is a term that practically everyone has heard of. People use social media platforms to entertain and
be entertained in their spare time by sharing their ideas, images, and videos. People use social media to socialise
in their spare time. People share their social lives with coworkers, friends, and families in addition to their
professional lives. The most effective approach to communicate with individuals from all around the world,
regardless of distance. People routinely check to see whether there have been any new alerts sent. They check
their social media accounts first thing in the morning to see whether they missed any acts while sleeping, and
before going to bed at night, they check all social media activity.

Employees unconsciously scan social media for work-related information. Social media has had a significant
influence on their lives. Whether offline or online, socialising is necessary. People use their social media sites to
reconnect with old friends, make new connections, and form a community of friends, family, relatives, and
coworkers in today's digital era. Social media now allows you to do business on a huge scale, allowing you to
reach a vast number of people all over the world, thanks to technological improvements. It has been proved that
promoting a business on social media might help it generate more leads.

Social networking and the workplace are inextricably linked. Social networking may have both beneficial and
bad consequences in the workplace or at work. Almost every employee at a firm spends one hour every day on
social media, according to studies. Most people have been caught on video checking social media during work
meetings while bored listening to their superiors for lengthy periods of time. Using every kind of money has
perks and cons.

Since it first gained popularity in the 2000s, social media has revolutionised our lives, for better or for worse. It's
hardly a stretch to argue that it's transformed the way we live, communicate, work, get our daily news, and
express our thoughts. With the introduction of social media, traditional hierarchical, geographical, and cultural
borders have almost vanished. Although social networking has made our lives simpler, has it made them better?
Many individuals are sceptical. Although social media enables for easy contact, it also has drawbacks.

The Impact Of Social Media At The Workplaces, John Cleary

Businesses have always embraced new technologies in order to boost their efficiency and production. New
technologies, on the other hand, have reframed the workplace, giving employees possibilities for small-scale
personal gain at the expense of their employer: a source of "free pens," the opportunity to make and receive
private phone calls, access to real-time sporting updates, and so on. Such action is still a part of the
contemporary working scene in the digital era, where the major concern is internet access for personal use
during working hours. Due to the use of both corporate devices and personally owned smartphones, the blurred
line between work and leisure time, and the advent of more stringent privacy legislation, employers have found
it more difficult to build an effective response.

Use of Social Media in the Workplace- Advantages and Disadvantages, Sushmita Sarma
According to a 2012 poll, employees spend an average of 1.5 hours a day using social media at work. This
translates to 7.5 hours each week, more than 30 hours per month, and 390 hours per year lost! Also excluded are
frequent interruptions such as chit-chatting with coworkers, coffee breaks, and responding to individual
messages/calls. According to the Pew Research Center, 77 percent of employees used social media at work in
2014. Despite the fact that many firms prohibit the use of social media in the office, this is the case. Others, on
the other hand, have particular regulations regarding its usage on the job. As a result, regardless matter how hard
firms try to limit their use of social media, employees might be very active on it. Simultaneously, many workers
benefit corporations directly through improved social media communication, marketing, and networking.
Twitter and Facebook have long been seen as effective platforms for developing deeper interactions with
consumers and partners. Wouldn't it be a mistake to assume that social BOOmedia is always used for personal
reasons at work?

ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF SOCIAL NETWORKING
IN PROFFESIONAL CIRCLE

Advantages of social media in workplace

Improves employee engagement - Allowing employees to take brief social networking breaks during the
day may improve their mood, leading to increased employee engagement. It will boost their self-esteem and
make them feel appreciated. It has the ability to enhance production by making your staff happier, more
loyal, and fulfilled. Similarly, praising your employees' performance on social media may help them feel
valued and appreciated.

Strengthens workplace relationships - Having a colleague buddy is a wonderful thing, and social media
may help you build great bonds. It's the most straightforward approach to get people to talk to each other at
work and at home, exchange ideas, and build relationships. Employees are more likely to stay at a
workplace where they are valued and have excellent interpersonal interactions.

Boosts employer brand - Social media is an excellent technique to raise your brand's visibility. Allowing
employees to write positive remarks about the company on social media might be beneficial. It will help to
develop the employer brand if individuals post interesting articles and videos about how much fun they
have at work. On a number of social media sites, brand surveys and campaigns may be launched. LinkedIn
is a fantastic professional networking site that may help your business gain a lot of good attention. It has the
ability to effectively communicate your company's culture and recruit qualified employees. Digital natives
also use social networking to further their careers.

Helps improve employee recognition and retention - Your firm could reward you for outstanding social
media performance. It might be used to recognise anything from excellent accomplishments to job
anniversaries to the hiring of new staff. Employee communication improves, and teams become stronger as
a consequence of this acknowledgment. Employee turnover may be reduced with the use of social media.
Evolv, a big data firm, found a link between social networking site use and higher retention. Employees
who utilised one to four social networking sites stayed at their employment longer than those who did not,
according to their research. They took 39,112 employees as their sample size.

Enhance employee learning - Employee development and learning are essential to update and strengthen
the workforce's current competencies. Employees can profit from social media by expanding their
knowledge and improving their personal skills. On social media, we see a lot of messages on how to be a
better leader, team member, and so on. We may learn and improve by immersing ourselves in fascinating
research, business data, dialogues, and news articles. As a result, social media may become a valuable
source of information for all levels of personnel. They can follow experts and groups with similar interests
via blogs, microblogs, and social media. These tools and communities help social networking collaboration
platforms enhance the quality and efficiency of their work. It may be used to aid with workflow as a
collaborative tool.

Disadvantages Of Using Social Media In The Workplace

1. Brings down productivity - Social media is no exception to the rule that everything in excess is dangerous.
Employees will squander a lot of time if they are permitted to use social media at work. Too much time spent on
social media might cause the mind to drift away from work and dwell on online diversions. It will have a
significant negative impact on productivity. "70% of companies have had to take disciplinary action against
employees for social media usage," according to a recent study. As a consequence, business leaders should be
able to strike a fine balance between encouraging social media use to boost productivity while preventing
addiction.

2. Increase technical risks - Hacking, viruses, and scam artists are all too common these days, and a lot of
them start with social media. If you don't have the necessary protection in place, using social media in the job
might be harmful. Employees who have premeditated malice pose a bigger risk to personal information than
cyber criminals.

3. Cause 'social media fails - Irresponsible statements and posts spread swiftly and have the ability to destroy
a company's brand in a matter of seconds. It has the ability to annoy your consumers and create a public outcry.
People have been fired and businesses have lost money as a result of social media failures.

4. Breed jealousy among employees - Personal information is shared via social media. It might be for the
purchase of a new home, car, or piece of jewellery. It has the ability to cause peer envy. You can use those posts
to annoy and mock coworkers. It has the potential to harm employee morale and, as a result, the company's
efficiency. Balance, like so many other things in life, seems to be the key. Even if you forbid it, your employees
will find a way to access social networking sites (through their mobile phones.) Employers should encourage
workers to utilise social media to their advantage rather than restricting their presence.

Findings
The findings indicate that the business advantages and benefits of social networking in the workplace are still
very much underappreciated and undervalued. Although some organisations across the world have started to
implement some of the facets of social networking technology and reap the business benefits, fear, resistance
and risk are the opinions that still dominate many organisations.
CONCLUSION
The paper examines positive and negative perceptions of social networking in the workplace and provides a
critical review of literature in the area. The drivers of, and barriers to, change are explored, and whether the
reasons for some organisations prohibiting or restricting social networking in the workplace are well‐founded or
corporate suicide. The link between social networking and organisational culture is examined, looking at
whether social networking tools are capable of revitalising and reshaping the culture and brand of an
organisation, which in turn can lead to better ways of working and increased levels of employee productivity
and satisfaction.

BOOK REVIEW

THE DIARY OF A YOUNG GIRL

-ANNE FRANK

Born in Frankfurt, Germany, she lived most of her life in or near Amsterdam, Netherlands, having moved there
in 1934 with her family at the age of four and a half when Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party gained control
over Germany. Born a German national, she lost her citizenship in 1941 and thus became stateless. By May
1940, the Franks were trapped in Amsterdam by the German occupation of the Netherlands. As persecutions of
the Jewish population increased in July 1942, they went into hiding in some concealed rooms behind a bookcase
in the building where Anne's father, Otto Frank, worked. From then until the family's arrest by the Gestapo in
August 1944, Anne kept a diary she had received as a birthday present, and wrote in it regularly. Following their
arrest, the Franks were transported to concentration camps. On 1 November 1944, Anne and her sister, Margot,
were transferred from Auschwitz to Bergen-Belsen concentration camp, where they died (probably of typhus) a
few months later. They were originally estimated by the Red Cross to have died in March, with Dutch
authorities setting 31 March as their official date of death. In 1986, the historians David Barnouw and Gerrald
van der Stroom wrote in The Diary of Anne Frank: The Critical Edition that they probably died at the end of
February or beginning of March 1945, basing this estimate on the written statement of eyewitness Lien
Brilleslijper in November 1945. Research by the Anne Frank House in 2015 suggests that they died in February.

WHAT IS THIS BOOK ABOUT ?

The Diary of a Young Girl, also known as The Diary of Anne Frank, is a book of the writings from the Dutch
language diary kept by Anne Frank while she was in hiding for two years with her family during the Nazi
occupation of the Netherlands. The family was apprehended in 1944, and Anne Frank died of typhus in
the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in 1945. The diary was retrieved by Miep Gies, who gave it to Anne's
father, Otto Frank, the family's only known survivor, just after the Second World War was over. The diary has
since been published in more than 70 languages. First published under the title Het Achterhuis. Dagboekbrieven
14 Juni 1942 – 1 Augustus 1944 (The Annex: Diary Notes 14 June 1942 – 1 August 1944) by Contact Publishing
in Amsterdam in 1947, the diary received widespread critical and popular attention on the appearance of its
English language translation, Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl by Doubleday & Company (United
States) and Vallentine Mitchell (United Kingdom) in 1952.

WHAT DID YOU LEARN FROM IT?

There are many important messages in this book, but the most important message is that all people have the
right to live in freedom. Anne’s story shows us that just because people may be a different religion or race,
doesn’t mean that they should be treated differently. The terrible treatment of Jewish people during the war has
shown this. Her diary shows us things that people don’t think about now, for example how every day the people
in hiding worried about maybe being found and punished.

Will you recommend it for reading and for whom?

I would recommend this book to anyone who has an interest in reading historical, war or mystery books as it is
so interesting. This book would be suitable for people aged ten upwards since it is very sad in places.
