ABSTRACT
Ishaan Awasthi, the protagonist of the film "Every Child Is Special," suffers from scholastic
issues. His parents sent him to boarding school, hoping that the severe education would help
him grow. Ishaan, on the other hand, just became worse and lost interest in sketching. Not
until Ram Shankar Nikumbh, his new art instructor, investigated, evaluated, and
empathizedhised with Ishaan's condition as he perceives himself to him. He approaches him
and addresses Ishaan's parents' concerns about his dyslexia. He stated that their child is
unique, just like every other child, and that he has his abilities. He also carefully and
successfully teaches Ishaan how to write, read, and compute using the technique he requires.
In the end, his family redeemed themselves accepted and understood their child's condition.
INTRODUCTION

Dyslexia is a learning disability that impairs the acquisition and application of mathematical
skills in the areas of listening, reading, writing, and thinking. These signs do not indicate a
child's IQ level. Children with high IQs are more likely to have them. Two renowned persons
who battled with dyslexia were Albert Einstein and Thomas Edison. Through the prism of
social work, the film "Every Child Is Special" is examined. Ishaan, an eight-year-old child, is
referred to as "lazy" and "bad" by his parents and peers at school. Nobody, however, delves
into the child's life since they are unaware of the disorder's signs. His painting teacher
Nikumbh (Aamir Khan), in contrast to the others, takes a distinct approach to children. The
teacher explains to the child's parents that dyslexia is not a problem that cannot be conquered
and that it can be addressed with the use of particular methods, which he does. The
psychiatric and depressive disorders that the youngster developed as a result of these factors
are dealt with in the film. Children's psycho-pedagogical assessments should be carried out
with care and should be evaluated by looking at how children's skills and IQ levels are
distributed. Furthermore, a personalized curriculum should be designed because children with
learning difficulties cannot be educated using a conventional classroom curriculum. The
basic idea behind therapy is to inform the child and his or her parents about the problem and
work with the school to resolve it. School social work should be created and applied in our
country in this regard. School social workers should focus on the relationship between
children and environmental factors from an ecological approach. Workers should help
children with diverse developmental features, including dyslexia, as well as their parents, by
addressing parental concerns, maintaining the school-home communication network, and
learning about the educational requirements of children. To put it another way, they must
prioritize collaborating with society.
SUMMARY

Ishaan Awasthi, an eight-year-old boy with unlimited energy and ingenuity, is going through
a trying time in his life. Ishaan's parents are more concerned about his older brother, who is
wiser. They just do not value Ishhan's artistic and creative talents. Ishaan is also having
trouble in school since he can't read or write. The letters he sees move while he writes, and
his letters and numbers are occasionally reversed. He got melancholy and bewildered as a
result of his school and family problems. His parents then planned to transfer him to a new
school that would provide him with higher education while also being far away from home,
completely ignoring the fact that this would make Ishaan even more miserable. Ishaan is
having a hard time coping with his emotions and adjusting, and painting is his only way to
relieve tension. Ram Shankar Nikumbh arrives out of nowhere, a new art instructor who is
skeptical of established teaching techniques. Encouraged his students to utilize their
imaginations, and he piqued their curiosity. Ishaan's challenges were well known to him. He
determined that Ishaan's errors are the result of dyslexia, a condition that causes difficulties
learning to read or interpret words, letters, and other symbols but has no effect on overall
ability. Since he had been in the same circumstances as Ishaan, Nikumbh reflected on his
background. He decided to assist the child. Nikumbh discovered Ishaan's creative ability
while researching him. He recognized the kid's potential. Ishaan's family was visited by
Nikumbh, who explained the scenario to them as well as why he is different. His parents were
either ashamed or oblivious to their son's talent. Nikumbh aided the youngster in developing
proper reading and writing skills. They developed a deep bond, and Nikumbh approached the
school's administration about organizing a painting event to show the children that Ishaan is
not who they think he is. During the event, Ishaan is pitted against numerous artists from the
school, including his mentor, Nikmubh. When it came to selecting who won the hearts and
eyes of the judges, He is tied for first place with his instructor Nikumbh, but only one of them
should win. Ishaan is the one in question. He beat his mentor, which made Nikumbh and his
family very happy and proud. Ishaan's victory helped him to find himself, allowing him to
become a better student, family member, and community member as a result. His grades and
demeanor both improved, culminating in a clever and pleasant young man. Children,
according to the movie, are like stars on Earth; each one is unique in its way.
BODY

Connection to the lesson: The two components that connect this film to the previous
one are specialists and teaching or research approaches. Since the beginning, Ishaan has
struggled to earn good grades in math, science, English, and other subjects. It shows that no
matter how hard he tried to study, he couldn't keep his focus and comprehend bits from
books. His mother, too, revealed that she had quit her job to devote more time to his family,
particularly to Ishaan, whom she was teaching at home. Despite his incapacity to write, read,
or calculate, he has a vivid imagination and amazing drawing skills. Like throughout the
lesson, Ishaan needs to have a dominant right brain over a dominant left brain.

The other link is teaching or study methods. The primary character, Ishaan, had dyslexia,
which meant he had problems recognizing letters and numbers. As a result, traditional
instruction and studying are ineffective in teaching him how to recognize letters and numbers
in the same manner that persons who do not have dyslexia do. They can't teach Ishaan
because they ignore his condition. In contrast to ram, he is aware of many impairments
because he educates individuals with disabilities at Tulip's school. He recognizes in Ishaan
not just a talent for painting, but also brains, as evidenced by the fact that he built a functional
boat out of scraps. After that, he persuaded the schoolmaster to allow him to tutor Ishaan in
number recognition, reading, and computers. He taught him mostly using art tools, and he
was effective, and the boy had improved.

Inclusive Education: When children with and without impairments attend the same
classrooms and study together, this is referred to as inclusive education. Children with
impairments were formerly separated from their classmates and assigned to separate classes
or schools. People have come to assume that separate instruction is required for special
education. We now know, however, that children who attend school together benefit
cognitively and socially. We also know that just blending impaired and non-disabled children
do not yield favorable results. Continuous advocacy, preparation, support, and dedication are
required for inclusive education.

Parental Pressure, A fine line between caring and too much caring: Parents want the best for
their kids. They frequently fantasize about their children entering the best schools and finding
well-paying jobs in modern society. They work and earn to provide for their child. While a
stable and pleasant home environment is regarded as important for healthy development and
growth, there is a fine line between caring and over-caring. Some of the most terrible acts
have occurred as a consequence of parental pressure. Modern civilization is a cutthroat
business. Sarcasm displays honesty and humility, questions positive activities, and generally
overlooks wicked behaviors. Power and money have become necessary for survival.
Unemployment is at an all-time high. Parents that impose mountains of duty on their children
add to the strain on students, who are considered the future. One can only imagine the
difficulties the youngster faces. Many parents want their children to be the best in their class
and at school. This is not incorrect in the sense that we must set lofty goals to achieve our full
potential, but there is a saying that "a chicken can run, canoodle, play, and eat. It can enjoy
the time it lives, but when it attempts to fly, it will only disappoint itself." When pupils are
held to such high standards, good intentions often go awry. To satisfy their parents, children
are expected to get outstanding marks. But what if they are crushed by unreasonable
expectations and are unable to satisfy them? In this new era, a parent may keep track of their
child's academic achievement, assignments, levels, and reports. Some parents are so
preoccupied with these scores that they put their child's ability to get the greatest score first.
Parental pressure is a source of anxiety and tension. The kid is usually immersed in books,
nervous, worried, and terrified of failing. Sleep deprivation, food disorders, excessive worry,
adultery, burnout, a loss of interest in activities, and estrangement from friends and family are
all symptoms of too much pressure. Adolescence is a time of mental and physical
transformation for a child. Their drive to fit into society, as well as to be attractive or
intellectually competent, will grow. Because their parents are their backbones in helping them
get through this tough time, parental pressure may create a collapse. At school, standardized
exams abound, and students are typically required to do up to four or five hours of homework
each night. This sometimes prompts parents to assume that they need to monitor their
children's growth, preferably by intruding into their social life and peering over their
shoulders while they study. High expectations and pressure can cause high blood pressure in
children. As time passes, they may get tired and distant. They will not always be victorious or
score highly. This leads to feelings of unhappiness, poor self-esteem, and a negative self-
image. Parents usually encourage their children to be all-rounders, and children are more
often victims than success stories.
Role Of Teachers In Student’s Life: Students' lives are greatly influenced by their teachers.
It's your responsibility as a teacher to bring out the best in your students and inspire them to
pursue greatness. Students are regarded as the nation's and humanity's future, and a teacher is
seen as a reliable guide for their development. Teachers are responsible for shaping a child's
future and making him or her a better human being, in addition to mentoring them in
academics and extracurricular activities. A teacher instills knowledge, good values, tradition,
current concerns, and solutions in his or her students. A good educator is beneficial to the
students.
CONCLUSION
Mr. and Mrs. Awasthi's reaction when they initially learned that their kid could have a
disease was understandable, but they should not remain startled and terrified and rather face
the possibilities. If it comes out that he did, parents should be understanding and aware of it
because their child was fragile and needed constant attention. While my conclusion was that
teachers' and parents' stinging words and punishment aren't always the answer to children's
faults and wrongdoings they should use a milder approach while correcting their child or
pupil since this allows them to express their feelings more freely. To summarise, everybody
has their abilities, talents, and capacities. You may not be good at everything, but you do
have a special skill. Discover what fascinates you the most and incorporate it into your
learning tactics, much like Ram did with Ishaan.
