and son?
-Dr. Lazaro loves his wife that much that he respects
her being religious despite of his loss of faith. ... In
spite of the fact that his wife is a religious and devoted
person he seemed not to believe in God. Even the fact
that his son, Ben, wanted to be a priest he still
questioned the church and its teachings. He acted so
indifferently in treating dying patients when he
witnessed all of the suffering that his patients
endured, it became unbearable for him. He felt as if
his efforts were useless.

Conflicts and responses
Dr. Lazaro lost his faith to God that made him distant to his family
because he was so dedicated to his profession. He also wanted
Ben, his son to be a doctor like him or engineer but Ben wanted to
be a priest. At the end of the story time already exists in the life of
Dr. Lazaro that he showed love and respect to what his son wanted
to be. He even called Ben a Reverend father, and that serves as the
way to open his faith again.
- At first he had performed his duty with the utmost determination and
intensity. Yet when he witnessed all of the suffering that his patients
endured, it became unbearable for him. He felt as if his efforts were
useless. He then realizes that his desire to help others makes him feel
an unnecessary deep sorrow. It is due to this reason that he becomes
emotionally detached from everything, thus not having to experience
pain, nor fear it.
-The end result was Dr. Lazaro got some information about his
arrangements in the wake of completing his A.B. also, when Ben gives
indications of needing to be a minister when he educated him
concerning the book that his perusing Dr. Lazaro proposed that perhaps
he could go on medication or designing. At the point when Dr. Lazaro
saw Ben immersed the baby he scrutinized the lessons of the
congregation however not Ben. It shows that he love his child that he
regards what his child needed to be. He even called Ben a Reverend
dad despite the fact that he may appear to be ridiculing his child about
it.

The faith, love, time and Dr. Lazaro tells the reader
that there could be things in a person's life that
would make him lost his faith to God and how one
would want to devote his life serving God.
