TASK 2: Directions: Write the body of your news on the CTE VIRTUAL ORIENTATION.

First ever virtual orientation program of CTE (College of Teacher Education) has successfully
accomplished TESO’s aim which is to orient, enlighten, refresh and get the CTE Falcons be familiarized
with the CTE faculty and staff, policies, protocols, and services through the virtual meeting app, Zoom.
With their hashtag, #conneCTEd, Dairen Gadia and Christian Jade Magabilin, hosted the event
cheerfully.
Dr. Lanie Tiu, Dean; gave her opening remarks welcoming every students of CTE and marking
a quotation for every students: “The challenges of the pandemic will become a new opportunity for us
to be more creative, resourceful, and productive…” after presenting the mission, vision, and goals of
CTE. It was immediately followed by presenting the faculty members through an audio-visual
presentation. An inspirational message from the OIC president, Dr. Rogelio T. Galera was delivered
making the attendees to remember that “Always find the silver lining from every tribulations.”
Part of the program was to give highlight to the newly elected officers of TESO for the academic
year 2021-2022. Mr. Benjamin Raceles introduced the new set one by one: President, Marc Kenneth
Drije; Vice President for BCAED, Paul Rendel Gacusan; VP for BSEd, France Louie Galacio; VP for
BEEd, Maureen Kae Hermosura; VP for BPEd, Edfel Jane Dakig; Secretary, Dairen Gadia; Treasurer,
Danlene Joy Gamboa; Auditor, Frances Hazel Lovette Almo; Business Manager for BCAED, Mark
James Valdez; Buss. Mngr. for BSEd, Mark Krysler Lilan; Buss. Mngr for BEEd, Rachael Ramos; Buss.
Mngr. for BPEd, Dexon Ray Taqueban; and for PRO, Christian Jade Magabilin.
Different Program Chairpersons of the College presented the curricula on each program. Mr.
Loyd Angelo Diana firstly presented the curriculum of Bachelor in Elementary Education (BEEd). It was
followed by Lanie B. Tiu Ph.D.; presenting the curriculum of Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSEd).
Karyl Beth G. Yesan, CE also presented the Bachelor of Culture and Arts Education (BCAEd)
Curriculum. Lastly, Mr. Benjamin C, Raceles presented his program curriculum for Bachelor of Physical
Education.
Field Study instructor, presented the FS1 – Observations of Teaching-learning in Actual School
environment, FS2 – Participation and Teaching Assistantship, and Practice Teaching. The presentation
includes the course descriptions, course outcomes, acronyms and terminologies in FS course, and
other information, fees and guidelines for the juniors and seniors.
College Admission Retention Policies were also discussed by Mr. Frederico Abella, the
Coordinator for Institutional Student Programs and Services. After that, questions and concerns from
the Falcons were given chances to be clearly addressed by the CTE faculty and TESO.
Dr. Elizabeth M. Velasco, the Focal Person for Flexible Learning, also enlightened Falcons
about the new mode of education and its strategies in North Luzon Philippines State College. She then
ended with a line, “Enjoy your moment in NLPSC! # Flexibility is the key.” Lastly, Mr. Loyd Diana
introduced the CTE Parents and Teachers Association (CTE-PTA) who shall convene as the strong
link of the college and the community in realizing the vision, mission, and quality policy of NLPSC.
The program was ended through the closing remarks of Mr. Kenneth O. Drije, the TESO
President, leaving the message: “We must be prepared, and connected to conquer the new academic
year of this covering our newest potentials while creating exceptional breakthroughs. As educators in
the making, we are not only developed to be academically proficient, but also shaped to adopt to the
changes of time and responsive to the demands of new normal.”
