STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

My name is Cinta Nayuma, you can call me Cinta. I am 27 years old, born and raised here in Ban -
dung. I am married with one son, he is 3 and half years old by now. I was graduated from Faculty of
Medicine Jenderal Achmad Yani University (UNJANI), Cimahi. To be honest, during my study in medicine
I didn’t find a lot of pediatric surgeon cases, for my teaching hospital doesn’t have Pediatric Surgeons. But
after graduated and started working as a general practitioner I found many cases about pediatric surgeon, yet
the facilities, pediatric surgeon and my knowledge is limited so those patients couldn’t get the treatment they
should’ve get. Therefore, I am interested to gain knowledge and continue my study in this field, which is Pe -
diatric Surgeon.

I graduated from Faculty of Medicine UNJANI in 2015 and continued my co-assistant / clerkship at
Dustira Hospital for the next 2 and a half year and finished my study in 2018 as a medical doctor. I post -
poned my internship program for I was going to give birth then. After my son is 1 month old I enlisted in
Salamun Air Force Hospital in May 2018. For 8 months I worked in Emergency Unit, wards or in-patient
unit, out-patient unit. Then I continued my internship program at Puskesmas Dago Bandung for another 4
months. I got my license and have been working at Satoe Dokter Clinic from September 2018 until now. I
also have been working at Dustira Hospital since November 2020 until now. I work at Dustira Hospital as a
partner doctor.

When I was working as an intern at Salamun Air Force Hospital, there was no pediatric surgeon
there, but I found several pediatric surgeon cases that ended up being referred to Hasan Sadikin Hospital or
other hospital with pediatric surgeon available. I wish I could learn from those patients about the disease but
there’s limitation in sources as I said earlier. My son was diagnosed with Phimosis at 2 days old and undergo
a circumcision at 5 days old, later when he was 2 years old he was diagnosed with Bilateral Undescended
Testis and undergo 2 operations, the first was Orchiopexy and the second was another circumcision. That
moment made me even more interested in pediatric surgeon field. Because more or less I could feel both a
mother side and a doctor side on this kind of case. As a mother of one, my heart is touched when I meet pedi-
atric patients especially those with congenital abnormalities. They are very young and still have a long great
future ahead if the disease they have is treated well.

I choose to continue my study at Department of Pediatric Surgery in Faculty of Medicine Padjad-

jaran University because first of all I have a lot of interest in pediatric surgery field, second of all in Indone -
sia, Padjadjaran University has the best Pediatric Surgery Department with excellent accreditation. Not to
mention Bandung is my hometown, I was born and raised here, my family, husband and son also live here,
so I’m sure Padjadjaran University will be my best choice to continue my study in the best environment both
mentally and financially.

I really hope I can become a student here in the Department of Pediatric Surgeon Faculty of
Medicine Padjadjaran Univerisy in order to gain more knowledge and preparing myself to be a great doctor
and a pediatric surgeon. If I was accepted and able to graduate as Pediatric Surgeon I am willing to go to
wherever region in Indonesia where Pediatric Surgeon is needed.
