As we head into the holiday months of November and December we will be focusing on two important themes as we worship together and spend time in Gods Word.

From Our Pastor

In November we will be focusing our attention on Balance. The dictionary defines balance as a state of equilibrium; equal distribution of weight; equality between the totals of the two sides of an account; to be equal or proportionate to. When the chemicals in our body are out of balance we become sick. When we lose our balance we fall down. When our tivres are out of balance we have a bumpy ride. And when our finances dont balance...were in trouble. Life is all about balance. Unfortunately, most of us live unbalanced lives. Thats why we have entitled our 2011 Stewardship Emphasis Balanced because it is our desire to help you live a more balanced life by properly managing your time, your talents, and your treasures. I can promise this. When your life is in balance, everything is better. So prepare to make some necessary changes and discover that life is better when its in balance! In December we will turn our attention to Coming Home for Christmas. When our family lived in Florida, one of our traditions was to come home to Hartsville, South Carolina every Christmas. It was the time that we gathered with our family, had fun and loved on one another. Well the Bible tells us the church is Gods family. In Ephesians 2:19 we are told, You are members of Gods very own family, and you belong in Gods household with every other Christian (TLB). Unfortunately many, who are a part of our church family, never come home to church. Out of a membership of over 3000, we only have 1000 here on any given Sunday. I dont think our Father would be very happy. So this Christmas, we are making an effort to bring back families who have not been home in a while. If youre one of those family members, dont you think its time to come home? Excited about the Holidays, Pastor Rocky

Whats Going On?

Have you been by our Lexington property lately? If not, you really need to! We have a lot going on. Heres a quick update: First, the construction documents are completed and are out for the final bid. By the time you read this we should have our guaranteed maximum price from our General Contractor. (We pray that it is $100,000 below our budget!). Our Future Development Team has completed our budget, and all the steps required prior to receiving our official building permit have been completed as well. In addition, we do have our foundation permit and RJG is presently installing foundations. SCE&G has installed the underground conduit for our parking lighting, and we will be laying the gravel base down on the parking pads and entry drive soon. Things are definitely moving along. And in the midst of it all, we need your prayers! Please pray that well be salt and light to all the contractors and subcontractors who will be working at the property these coming months. Pray that the Truth of Gods love will be shared within every interaction and encounter, and that we never lose focus----that this project is not about brick and mortar, but always about reaching people for Jesus Christ.

Widows & Widowers Reception

Greetings from Northsides Veterans Group!

Our mission is to bring praise to God by recognizing the blessings we all have because of the service of veterans.

As Veterans Day approaches we challenge all of you to spend some time with someone that has served our nation, and to spend time in prayer for those who have served, are currently serving and for those that who decide to serve future generations. Parade news: Northsides Veterans Group will participate in the Veterans Day Parade in Columbia on Thursday, November 11, so come on out and enjoy the Parade. Veterans Breakfast: On Sunday, November 14, we will have a Veterans Breakfast (biscuits, coffee, juice) at 8 a.m. in the CFC Gameroom (off of the gym). Veterans and their families are invited and encouraged to attend. It would be a great opportunity for you to bring a guest as well. Quarterly Meetings: As you can see we are continuing to grow in numbers and activities. It would be great for all our v and their families to attend our quarterly meetings. We also want to have an outreach to veterans outside of Northside. Please invite your friends and co-workers to attend as well.

Whether youre brand new to Northside or have been visiting for a while, this new class is for you! In less than an hour, youll get an overview of our church, meet our pastors, and understand what membership means at Northside! To sign up please go to our website or contact Mary Boyce @ 926-3029.
