Definitions
LAW
Conforming to or permitted by law or stablished rules. Recognized or made effective
by a court of law as distinguished from a court of equity.

Legal principles are based on the rights of the citizens and the state expressed in the
rules. An action is permissible if it does not violate any of the written rules.

Legality is uplifted by a governing body and reflects social principles.

Law refers to the set of rules and regulations enforced by the system of a particular
country or community to regulate the human behavior in society whereas morality
refers to the ethical code of conduct for a human being.

MORALITY
Of or relating to principles of right and wrong in behavior. Sanctioned by or operative on one’s
conscience or ethical judgement

Morality is dependent on your cultural background or personal upbringing. Both Legality and
Morality are heavily influenced by popular social thought, but morality is more independent and
reflective of personal choice.

Morality is a body or principles that attempt to define what is good and bad conduct.

Morality stands are the basis for the law while morality is ensured by living according to the law.

RELATION
In ancient times there was no difference between law and morality, what reflected that they are
strongly linked. Thus, we can say that some of the laws are based on moral principles

Both provide social organization, meaning that they shape how people behave and what is
considered socially acceptable.

They help people interact more cohesively and aim to protect individuals from harm.

Humility

Humility in the context of clinical ethics, means

to appreciate and understand the limit of your

abilities,to distinguish what is clinically

indicated from what is the most appropiate for

certain patient and to believe that you are not

better than anyone else.

Humility also means to be confident and find

yourself worthy while seeing others as equal,

and to distinguish between knowing what

illness the patient has and understanding how

it feels to have it.

Types of self awareness
We can find two types:

External self awareness:


Means understanding

how other people view us

in terms of our own

values, passions,

aspirations, etc.

Internal self awareness:


Represents how clearly we see our

own values, aspirations, passions,

fit with our environment, reactions

(including thoughts, feelings,

behaviors, strengths, and

weaknesses), and impact on others

Privilege
Definition:

It is when someone has

a benefit that others

don't because of the

social group they

belong.
It gives advantage over

others that you did not


Some characteristics

White Privilege
White privilege benefits white people
at the expense of people of color.
Lacking white privilege include:
Not seeing yourself catered for by
the society you live in.
Being directly typecast or treated
differently
Usually white people do not perceive
their advantages.

Religious privilege
Religious privilege includes:
Being able to find a place of
worship near you
Feeling a sense of connection
between your religious
celebrations and wider
society.

Gender privilege
Usually refers to male privilege
Men are centered and catered
for in career progression and
pay and can be treated more
respectfully and listened to
more in everyday
conversations.

Heterosexual privilege
Describes the advantages granted to
someone because of their heterosexual
orientation.
Possessing this privilege means:
Never having to worry about ‘coming out’
Not feeling unsafe when holding hands
with your significant other in public
Never censoring yourself around different
groups that find your orientation
uncomfortable or wrong.

Socio economic privilege


This is a complex concept due to the
fact that it looks very different for
everyone.
For some people it means being
able to afford luxury goods
To others it means being able to
afford to go to university or simply
to have a roof over your head and
a place to sleep at night.
