2K NTNK 101 MATT COAT

(Surface Printing Ink for flexible packaging)

2K NTNK 101 MATT COAT has been carefully formulated for gravure printing, satisfying the demand of
high mattness, good scratch resistance and high heat resistance on a wide range of substrates.

TECHNICAL DATA
AND WORKING ADVICE

SUBSTRATE

2K NTNK 101 MATT COAT is suitable for printing in PET and both side treated BOPP. This ink has
excellent adhesion to PET and treated side BOPP.

MAIN CHARACTERISTICS
Good drying speed, no blocking.
Excellent mattness.
High Heat resistance for the fully cured system.
Suitable for retort system.
Good scratch resistance.

HOW TO USE IT

The mixture prepared and diluted at printing viscosity has a pot life of about 24 hours. If the room is at high
temperature and high relative humidity (summer condition) the pot life is reduced.
Because the product is extremely moisture sensitive, we suggest the product should be opened just before
using it and the printing mixture prepared frequently.
Tightly close this mixture in the cans.
Components: A : EL 11965 (dry content 21.5%)
B (Hardener): HSM 930 (dry content 37%)

Mixing Ratio: 1. For general Application

EL 11965 100 parts
HSM 930 10 parts

2. For retort Application

EL 11965 100 parts
HSM 930 15 parts

Reducer: (EAc: NPAc) (70:30)

PRINTING AND DRYING

Optimal drying is necessary to avoid high solvent retention and subsequent poor crosslinking with blocking
problems.
Printing at constant speed enables constant control of drying and mixture viscosity.
Frequent viscosity and retained solvent controls are recommended to find the most suitable working
conditions.

CURING
The drying of the press starts the crosslinking of the product, avoiding any blocking in the reel, but the
complete crosslinking finishes on the reel, without the formation of secondary products.
The complete crosslinking takes about 24 hours at room conditions. At this point the varnish shows very
good heat resistance, scratch resistance, adhesion and retort properties.

CLEANING
The cured varnish is insoluble.
For long steps it is necessary to let the varnishing unit spin slowly avoiding the contact with the doctor blade.
When the job is completed, the whole varnishing unit must be immediately and deeply washed, using the
indicated solvents.

STORAGE

Moisture-sensitive products.
The product must be kept in their own sealed packages, in a cool and dry room.
They must be used within 6 months after purchase.

SAFETY REGULATIONS
Material safety data sheet is separately available.
