A pressure gauge is a device which measures the pressure in a
gas or liquid. Pressure gauges are widely used all over the world
in industrial environments because of its affordable price. These
SCOPE Pressure sensors are among the most often used instruments in
a plant. But because of their great numbers, attention to
maintenance can be compromised. As a consequence, it is not
uncommon in older plants to see many gauges out of service.
METHODOLOGY

AIR COMPRESSORS

Air compressors are versatile and vital components of any factory or workshop. They’ve become
smaller and less bulky in recent years, making them more usable in various work situations.
These are highly useful portable machines that power single air tools.

The main advantage of air compressors is that they’re much more powerful than regular tools,
and they don’t require their own bulky motors. Since the only real maintenance that’s required of
them is a little bit of oiling, a variety of tools can be powered by a single engine that utilizes air
pressure for maximum potential.
WORKING

Air compressors work by forcing air into a container and pressurizing it. Then, the air is forced
through an opening in the tank, where pressure builds up. Think of it like an open balloon: the
compressed air can be used as energy as it’s released.

They’re powered by an engine that turns electrical energy into kinetic energy. It’s similar to how a
combustion engine works, using a crankshaft, piston, valve, head and a connecting rod.

From there, the pressurized air can be used to power a variety of tools. Some of the more popular
options are nailers, impact wrenches, sanders and paint sprayers.
ALTERNATIVE

BLOOD PRESSURE MEASUREMENT DEVICE

New devices known, as “hybrid” sphygmomanometers, have been developed as replacement for
mercury devices. Basically, these devices combine the features of both electronic and
auscultatory devices such that the mercury column is replaced by an electronic pressure gauge,
similar to oscillometric devices, but the blood pressure is taken in the same manner as a mercury
or aneroid device, by an observer using a stethoscope and listening for the Korotkoff sounds
POSITIVE DISPLACEMENT
METER TESTING
Positive displacement meters are used by gas utilities to bill
large volume customers such as commercial, large residential,
and small industrial accounts. Rotating vanes or impellers in
the meters trap a volume of gas entering the meters. The gas
must be able to flow through the meters with a minimum
amount of resistance. The resistance to flow is measured as a
differential pressure (between 0.1" H20 and 2.0" H20) from
the inlet to the outlet of the meters.

CONCLUSION

Compressed air has provided industry with countless benefits over the centuries and has
increased capabilities in automation and led to the development of more powerful tools. It’s also a
costly resource that consumes energy to produce the clean airflow needed.
When selecting an air compressor system for your business, it is important to identify what type of
compressor will best serve your needs while still delivering the dependability and power required
for your operation.
Inefficient compressed air usage can result in costly energy losses and impact your bottom line. In
addition, proper maintenance and inspection for air leaks are also essential for keeping your
system operating at optimal performance and efficiency.
