RESOLUTION URGING THE PUNONG BARANGAY TO INCLUDE IN THE 2020 BARANGAY

ANNUAL BUDGET THE ALLOCATION FOR PUBLICATION AND PRINTING IN ANY AVAILABLE
FUNDS UNDER THE MAINTENANCE AND OTHER OPERATING EXPENSES (M.O.O.E.).

Whereas, Freedom of Information (FOI) is a right enshrined in our fundamental law. It refers to the right
of the people to information on matters of public concern;

Whereas, It is the right of every citizen to access official records, documents and papers pertaining to
official acts, transactions or decisions, as well as to government research data used as basis for policy
development as enshrined in Sec. 7, Art. III, 1987 Constitution;

Whereas, information on what is happening in the barangay should be included as the people’s right to
be informed through a newsletter and social media ( Emphasis ours);

NOW, THEREFORE: On motion duly seconded:

BE IT RESOLVED, as it is hereby resolved by the Sangguniang Barangay in session assemble to urge

as it hereby urges the Punong Barangay to include in the 2020 Barangay Annual Budget an allocation
for Publication and Printing in any available funds under the Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses
(M.O.O.E.).
