Group Assignment (GFMA3083: MNC)

A202 MARCH 2021

Students are required to select TWO Multinational Companies/MNCs operating in SINGAPORE

or THAILAND or INDONESIA and analyzed both companies based on the following 3 areas:

1. General information about the firms

Size, aged, nationality, types of international business activities performed by the firms and
countries they involved in their business.

2. General information about the executives

Education, experience, job characteristics, international business experience and
responsibilities, position and how long he/she have been with the firms.

3. International business problem or issues faced by the firms during the Pandemic of
COVID-19 in 2020.
Students need to provide detailed overview of the issues, problems and challenges facing
the firms and make comparison of how these two companies are solving their problems.

- Suggested coverage might include business challenges and issues on

specific case in marketing, HRM, policy, logistics, production,
promotion, entry mode--location selection, financial, strategy and
structure, or any other external factors i.e economic, legal, politic or
cultural issues.

- Examine and explain how these firms handled their problems or crises or
issues.

Paper content:

Each group will write a typed, one and a half spaced assignment, approximately 20 to 25 pages in
length. Font: Times New Roman; Font size: 11.
Tables, charts and references do not count in the page limit and should be attached to the end of
your paper (as appendix).
Use APA format.
Submit in 1 file together with the cover page & in word format (not in the pdf format)

The paper should follow the topic listed below:

Chapter 1. Introduction
Ø The Firms
Ø The Executives

Chapter 2. The Pandemic of COVID-19 in 2020

Problem or issues faced by the company because of the Pandemic.
Explain how the firms managed to solve the issues or problem facing them
Chapter 3. Discussion, Solutions & Recommendations
Students need also to use any concepts that they have learn in the classroom &
apply these concepts and theories to present the business challenges in the form
of case study.

Need also to design and develop a strategy for improving the situation.

Explain in what ways the students managed to help the firm in solving their
problems.

Chapter 4. Conclusion

Compile and create your group video presentation. Please do not exceeds 10 minutes.

Submit through Youtube link for easy access.

Your presentation should focus on the discussion parts, especially on your recommendations in
dealing with the challenges, issues and problems presented in the paper.

Provide solutions as well as mention your idea for improvement (if any).
