ACADEMIC DEPARTMENT GUIDLINES

1- Respect your fellow colleagues.


2- Follow the TUV-NITI dress code.
3- Be in class at least 5 minutes before the start of the class.
4- Attendance to be taken during the first 5 minutes.
5- Always have a lesson plan immediately available in class and closely follow it.
6- Reporting urgent leave (or) absence:
 Any urgent leave must be reported at least an hour at least before the first class at NITI.

 People to include in your email: (IMPORTANT)
- Your senior teacher.
- The senior teacher coordinator.
 Apply for leave through TUV leave system.
7- No toilet breaks for trainees during class time except for emergencies or if trainees are
known to have a medical condition (keep a register of such trainees).
8- For any disciplinary issues, use the Cause of Concern Form (if it is a minor issue) or the
Disciplinary Report Form.
9- Teachers are not allowed to proctor classes they teach during the writing exams, online
exams or give speaking exams to any of classes they teach.
10- Trainees’ ID cards and uniforms MUST be checked by their teachers, especially at the
commencement of period 1. Flip flops, slippers and brightly colored shoes are NOT allowed.
11- SAFETY MESSAGE: must be included in your lesson plans (2-3 mins).
12- NO sitting in the class while teaching.
13- Classroom rules (no sleeping, eating, drinking (juice, coffee, tea…), covering the head,
using phones in class (these must be in the cabinet)
14- You MUST sign in by 7.30 a.m. and sign out at 4:00 p.m. each working day. NO
Exceptions!
15- No foods or drinks in class for both, the teacher, and the trainee.
