ANSWER:
The soccer group that presented last Tuesday was a good presentation for me. They discuss all
about soccer, they discuss first is a brief history of soccer. Soccer was invented in England; they
invented the game of running around kicking a ball in the mid-19 century. Also, China claimed
something similar, but it played on horseback, not on foot. It is called “football” not because the
game is played with the feet, but because the game is played on foot, rather on horseback. Soccer
has many origins such as Egypt, Ancient China, and Rome. And soccer is better known to the
rest of the world as “football”. The second discussion is mechanics in playing soccer, they
discuss what players to do when they play soccer, like played by two teams, the game begins
with toss of a coin and etc. Then the third discussion is soccer positions; the soccer positions are
goalkeeper, wing-back, full-back, sweeper, center-back, defensive midfielder, winger, central
midfielder, striker, attacking midfielder, forward, and last is striker. Then the fourth is the Phil
Woosnam quotation, which is “the rules of soccer are very simple, basically it is this; if it moves,
kick until it does”. Lastly are basic skills in playing soccer which are passing and receiving,
dribbling, heading, controlling/trapping and shooting. If I’m the one of the players of soccer, I
will play with full of my heart and it can make me happy, because soccer has benefits like
maintaining health, fitness, strength and endurance.
