What is your age?

I am 26 years old.

What are your qualifications?

After completing my “O” level education, I have completed a full time three
course titled “Diploma of Associate Engineer in Civil Technology”. I completed
my diploma in 1990.

I have completed several computer courses such as Microsoft Windows,

Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft word.

What are your quantity surveying qualifications?

In Pakistan, there is no special course for quantity surveying. Quantity

surveying is a part of civil engineering course, which I have qualified.

What were your main subjects in civil engineering?

My major subjects in civil engineering were building construction, civil

engineering construction, quantity surveying, estimating, electrical
installations, mechanical installations, highways, drawings, etc.

What is your previous experience?

I have worked on variety of the projects. They include multi-storey residential,

commercial and office buildings; city roads, water supply and drainage works;
infra-structural works; shopping malls and workshops

Did you work for Contractors?

Yes. I worked for Contractors.

What were your responsibilities as Contractor Quantity Surveyor?

I was responsible for preparing the monthly payment applications, calculation

of quantities of BOQ items as well as materials. I was also evaluating the
variations and agreeing with the Consultants and the Clients. I was preparing
the rates for new items of works. I was also preparing the Sub-Contract

agreements, Sub-Contract Bills of Quantities and agreeing the Sub-Contract

rates. I was preparing the payment certificates for Sub-Contractors. In
addition, I was pricing the Tender Bills of Quantities.

Did you work for consultants?

Yes. I worked for Consultants.

What were your responsibilities as Consultants Quantity Surveyor?

I was responsible for reviewing the monthly payment applications, making the
adjustments to the quantities and the rates and preparing the payment
certificates. I prepared the Site Work Instructions for varying the Contract
Works along with associated cost estimates. I was preparing the variation
orders and agreeing with the Contractors and the Clients. In addition, I
calculated the quantities of works and prepared the Bills of Quantities.

Did you write financial letters?

Yes. I did write routine letters regarding the quantity surveying.

Do you like your profession?

Yes. I love quantity surveying. I get respect, reasonable salary and friendly
environment in this profession.

What salary do you expect?

I expect a fair deal. I should be paid fairly for what I do. No more no less. If I
improve my performance, I should get pay raise.
