MEDIA QUESTIONS

Name/Organization Question

Issue/Concern: On the implementation of Distance Learning Modality

Marissa M. Cano
City Information Officer

Michael A. Aguilos 1. Because of the pandemic, you've come up with

Radyo Natin FM 103.9 a solution to address the pandemic. Do you think
that flexible learning is effective? What mental
health care interventions does the Department
would like to propose for the students and
teachers?

2. You've served the country for many years as a

DepEd Secretary, what do you think is your
greatest contribution to our education system?

Rodrigo Victoria 3. What would be the remedies after some

PIA Biliran teachers have found out about parents answering
the modules of the pupils/students? Will there be a
decrease in the quality of education if the
pandemic, let us say, will last for ten years?

Dahlia Orit 4. What is your comment regarding some

Southern Leyte Times statement made by the students that they weren't
able to learn their lessons since the new distance
learning is applied? Are there reported numbers of
students na nag-fail because of this new system?

KC Carina Comilan-Caranzo 5. With the present scenario, which learning

Radyo Pilipinas DYOG-Calbayog modality is effective nationwide considering the
slow internet connections in some areas like ours?

6. Can we sustain the quality of education given

this pandemic situation?

Januario C. Arnaiz 7. Modular learning is said to be difficult even

GMA learned parents find it hard to comprehend. Is
there any alternative to it?

Marcelo M. Pedalino 8. What is your reaction to impressions that the

PIA Maasin City modules are very hard for students to understand
at their level.

Nimfa R. Quirante 9. Nakagawa na po ba ng Evaluation/Assessmentt

PIA Eastern Samar ang departamento tungkol sa natututunan ng
estudyante dito da module system? Ano ho ba
ang naging resulta? Maraming salamat po.

Ailene N. Diaz 10. The modular learning approach in Northern

Manager, PIA Northern Samar Samar has caused our students in high school
sleepless nights since January, coping up with
modules, not to mention low internet connections
or none at all (research/browsing). They often
complain of hectic deadlines. On top are
complaints of our children on not-discussed hard
topics but included in the module questions.
Concerns of parents reach us as well of rising
incidence of suicidal attempts of children in high
school to which some parents like us worry about.
What is the best the DepEd can do in this
situation?

Elmer Recuerdo 11. What were the factors that came into play that
Daily Tribune affected the level of learning of the students?

Issue/Concern: On Vaccination

Maria Daisy Amor Belizar 1. Ang DepEd ay kasama na sa priority group ng

PIA Eastern Samar bababkunahan kontra covid 19. Meron din po ba
kayong priority list kung sino ang uunahin sa inyo
king sakali masimulan na ang inyong vaccination?

Rachel Arnaiz 2. If children will be eligible for vaccination and

Philippine Daily Inquirer face to face classes will open later in whatever
Leyte and Samar Daily Express modalities, will the DepEd recommend the "NO
VACCINATION, NO ENROLMENT" policy for
students?

Issue/Concern: On teachers' welfare

Maria Daisy Amor Belizar 1. Kung dati ang mga guro nag-aantay lang sa
PIA Eastern Samar kanilang estudyante sa loob ng classroom,
ngayon po nakikita ko ang hirap at sakripisyp ng
ilan sa kanila habang naghahatid ng learning
materials sa mapuputik, matatarik at malalayong
lugar? May hazzard pay po ba sila?

Jimmy Angay-Angay 2.

Issue/Concern: On Drop-out

Rachel Arnaiz 1. Many students enrolled in public schools belong

Philippine Daily Inquirer to families who are beneficiaries of the
Leyte and Samar Daily Express government's 4P's program. One primary
condition here is for the children to continue
attending school. Recently some 4Ps beneficiary
families were disqualified from the program
because their children have stopped schooling,
which is a violation of the 4Ps "condition". The
drop outs have been happening before the
pandemic and were only discovered later. What
are the DepEd's guidelines to help these poor
students and avoid this incident?

Issue/Concern/Topic: On face-to-face classes

Dahlia Orit 1. Any updates on the face to face classes,

Southern Leyte Times especially that some students really desire for
actual learning not from virtual/distance learning
(modules)

Issue/Concern/Topic: On Budget Allocation

Elmer Recuerdo 1. Is there an increase in terms of budgetary

Daily Tribune allocation , decrease or the same compared to
previous school year and why?

Issue/Concern/Topic: On the conduct of End-of-School-Year Rites

Joey Gabieta 1. There are schools asking for contributions for

Inquirer Moving-up ceremonies, do we allow collection of
graduation fees even if the ceremonies will be
done virtually?
