Electronic interface between PC and glue system

Container Technics is a worldwide supplier of glue systems for the

corrugated board and board converting industry. Hundreds of cold glue
systems have been delivered for many years.

Container Technics has developed a new user-friendly and flexible glue

system. A PC is used to set up and monitor the glue system.

3T developed the electronic interface between PC and glue system. The

interface has power electronics and takes care of a precise timing of the
gluing process.

Activities
3T designed the dedicated hardware of the electronic interface. All required
components are contained in a compact housing. The embedded software
was also developed by 3T.
Now 3T manufactures the electronic interfaces for Container Technics,
delivering on demand.

Technology
• Micro controller with a real time operating system (Hitachi H8S micro
controller)
• CMX real-time operating system
• Power output stages for glue valves, with programmable waveform for
inductive loads (max 180V 15VA, 150VA peak)
• 2 phase encoder input

Result
Container Technics can market a new and easy to use glue system.
The electronic interface between PC and glue valves has a very high
accuracy, guaranteeing correct glue patterns at high speed (tolerance
1 mm).

The interface can be flexibly integrated with future, customer specific, glue
systems. This makes it possible to integrate the glue systems with all
board processing machines, further increasing the market for
Container Technics.
