ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEM:

User Login
Start the Personnel Management application using the desktop icon or via Start > Program files > Access Professional
Edition > Personnel Management.

The following login screen appears.

Login with a valid user name and password. Main Dialog box appears as below.

Description of ACS interface:

1 = Menu bar — contains dialog functions displayed according to the menu order.

2 = Toolbar — contains shortcut keys for the most important dialog functions.
3 = Title bar — conforms to Windows standard and contains buttons for minimizing or closing the dialog window. The name of the registered user
appears in square brackets.

4 = Personnel table — lists all people known in the system along with their attendance status (authorization and location).

5 = Dialog field — the first time this field is opened or when no user is logged in, it shows a neutral image (map of the world). When an entry is
selected from the Personnel list, this person's data is displayed.

6 = Online swipe — lists the last five people (with database image) that have swiped their cards at the entrance selected.

7 = Device status — lists the configured devices and entrances along with their connection status. Enables door control functions.

8 = Event display — faults are indicated by a flashing red bar (flashes three times) with details on the cause.

9 = Status bar — displays information on buttons and menu entries that are controlled with the cursor. Status display on card personalization
program (CP), dialog readers and LAC service.

Issuing a card to a new user:

To issue a card to a person we need to use personnel management of the ACS

Select in the personnel management pane.

The following window appears:

Fill in all the personnel data, validity, select predefine personnel group etc.
To assign a card to the user, select Assign card 1 option and fill in the card codes as below and click assign card as below

If the card code is correctly given then the below should appear

Then we should give a unique number in the card no as below

We can also insert user photo by selecting import picture option.


Then select the access authorizations tab and in it assign the areas or doors for which the access is to be given

Then click OK and the user is added successfully.

Then check the card by swiping it at all the doors whether the settings applied to the card or not.

LOGS:
All the logs and events can be monitored through the Viewlog pane as shown
Modifying the user details:

To modify an user, just select the user to be modified and click edit ( ) and make the changes and click OK

To delete any user, select that user and click delete ( ) and the user is deleted.

Blocking a user:

To block a user select the user and in the user details pane select the option as shown and save.

Again if the user is to be re activated, click the valid and save


The status of each user can be known in the personnel management pane as the below symbols:

Monitoring all the devices like readers and LACs through the Device status pane as below:

Various device states can be known as described below:


All the above are monitored and resolved is there is any deviation from the normal operation.

Taking back up of the logs and Access card issue status:

Logs:
In the Viewlog pane we will use option filter , and a window opens as below

We give the details of all required inputs and click ok.


The filtered data appears and by selecting print option as below

we get a printing wizard of crystal reports as below.

Click on the option and a following export window appears

Select the format and destination and click OK, then select page range and the select a path to save the pdf file of the
logs
Access card issue status report:

In personnel management pane click on and a form appears as below in the right pane.

Select search option and a list of all the users appears as below

Then we save the pdf of the above report same as the logs are saved
A manual record of the same will be maintained in the following format:

PROCESS OF ISSUING AN ACCESS CARD TO A PERSON IN APSDC:

The person should get approval through proper channel and should submit as Access card request form as below

Then after taking all the details as in the form a card will be issued to the person.
If the person’s period of validity is over the card gets blocked and if the person needs to extend his validity, he must get
approval again for renewal of the card. If the person don’t need the card any more it will be deleted.
If a visitor is to be given a card, we will follow same as above but we will take back the card every time he leaves the
site, disable that and whenever he come to site we will enable the card and give him the card, thus escorting the visitor.
Visitor cards are given for a short time period.

Damaged or misplaced card:


If there is any damaged or misplaced card, we will block that card as in the procedure.
