1. Learn a Programming
To start bioinformatics, you must begin with learning a programming language. If you aren’t
familiar with programming already, then do the below basic steps to gain more confidence. A
highly recommended programming language for beginners is Python https://lnkd.in/eGqXGNy
We have also listed some resources for python #basics & practice in our channel

2. Start Reading Lots of Academic Papers.

An excellent tool for submerging yourself in others research is Cold Spring Harbor
Laboratory www.biorxiv.org/ On this free online platform, you can view and comment on
others work, as well as submit your own academic and biological study for review. When you
read these papers, find questions you want to answer within these studies. If enough data is
available, try to reproduce these results yourself, which is an excellent practice.

Alternative platforms to find the solution to bioinformatics questions are:

Biostar www.biostars.org/, Bioinformatics.org bioinformatics.org, StackOverflow and

3. Participate in Courses that match your interests.

check the free courses posted on our channel https://lnkd.in/gTu9EHiE, accessible scholarly
sources https://lnkd.in/gNVxu3Ya. There are various courses offered by different universities

4. Brush Up on or Learn Statistics

After you have done lot of reading, started taking some courses & learned a programming
language, it would be ideal for brushing up on statistics https://lnkd.in/gFsGDQ5p or start
learning. Khan Academy https://lnkd.in/gDaTbfeB a variety of courses on statistics that can be
very beneficial to someone looking into bioinformatics.
