1.3 SCOPE OF THE MANUAL
This manual has been drawn by the
manufacturer and is enclosed with the
machine.
The information contained is intended for
unskilled (inexperienced) and skilled operators.
This manual defines the purpose for which the
machine has been manufactured and contains
all necessary information for safe, correct use.
Carefully consult this manual before carrying
out any service of the machine.
Constant observance of the stated standards
guarantees booth the machine and personnel
safety, economic running and longer working
life.
Any improvement bound to the in-line
connections or to the type of workable product
do not affect safety.

2.1 USER SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS
In addition to the known specifications, safety
and carefulness recommendations are used
here in order to call the operators and
technicians attention to the possible dangers
which might derive from the incorrect operation
of the machine.
Pay strict attention to all caution, warning and
danger signs on the machine.
Always use original spare parts. Failure to
replace broken or worn parts with factory
replacement parts or poor quality parts could
cause serious damage to the equipment
and/or injury to personnel.
Make safety a habit!

Before starting the working cycle, the operator
must make sure that nobody and nothing is
within the machine’s working range.

A qualified person is someone who is familiar
with all safety notes and established safety
practices with the installation, operation and
maintenance of this equipment and the hazard
involved.
System documentation must be available and
observed at all times.
All non-qualified personnel must keep at a safe
distance from the equipment.

Never operate the machine unless all guards
are in place and do not attempt to make any
safety device inoperative. Don’t clean, oil,
repair machinery or make any mechanical
adjustment during the cycle.
The system must be installed in accordance
with local regulations.
Immediate replace electric cables if they are
damaged.

Never touch or introduce parts of the body in

the plant’s equipment whilst in movement.

Check all safety switches and other safety

devices frequently to assure they operate.

Place the machine in a stable position on a flat

horizontal surface for the working phase.

Never perform maintenance or repair work

until you are sure the power is turned off at the
main control panel and cannot be turned back
on without your knowledge. Use any safety
device to lock the switch so that no one can
activate it.

Do not use the machine for different purposes

than those for which it has been explicitly
devised.

Do not enter the machine : it is absolutely unfit

for the transportation of people or objects.

2.3 SUPERVISOR RECOMMENDATIONS

The machine maintenance shall be executed

only by trained staff. Keep untrained personnel
away.

Always train new personnel to safely operate,

maintain and repair this machine. Retrain
frequently.

Always instruct all personnel to read the safety

instructions for this machine.

Check frequently that these rules are

respected.

2.5 INFORMATION ON THE RESIDUAL
RISK

The risk for operators have been reduced

during machine design phase.

The machine could have many hot surfaces.

The temperatures reached in the various side

are high but not so high to cause burnings.

In the access zone are located many

indications informing about the dangerous
temperature:
“WARNING: DANGEROUS TEMPERATURE”

To make maintenance, always use protective

gloves, handle metal parts carefully. Avoid to
touch hot part of the machine with bare hands.

4.3 CHECKING ON ARRIVAL
Before starting to position and fix the machine,
ensure that the machine conforms to that
which was requested on the contract.
Check :
- The code on the plate with the serial number,
which must correspond to the code for the
machine that you ordered.
- That the whole machine is in perfect
condition of preservation.
- That the pack includes all the equipment
required by the contract.
- Fittings are in an en excellent condition. They
should have any dents or rusty patches etc.
- For any problems found on arrival,
immediately contact The manufacturer
After checking that the machine and its fittings
are in excellent condition, proceed to locate
and level the machine.
4.4 GENERAL NOTIONS ON THE
FOUNDATION TECHNIQUES
The machine does not need any particular
interventions on the foundations; it is however
necessary to ascertain whether such
foundations are able to support the load of the
machine.
4.5 POSITIONING IN LINE
For the machine positioning, it is necessary to
respect the plant lay-out verifying the
alignment with the machines which come
before and which follow.

Check the levelling using a simple level or
“water pipe level” correspondence to the
positions relative to the machines of the line.
Carry out the electrical connections taking care
to verify that the frequency and voltage of the
electric panels (if installed) and of the motors
are the same as those of the network.
NOTE – It is advisable to place
vibration damper elements
► between the feet of the machine
and the resting plane, in order to
reduce the vibrations and noise
produced by the machine as
crossing the structures, these
could affect the good
functioning of the other
machines and/or delicate
equipment and could damage
the personnel’s safety and
wellbeing.
It is important that the machine, and in
particular the working plane, are perfectly
levelled; to achieve this condition it is
necessary to act on the feet of the same.
After having positioned the machine, rinse it
inside and out with clean water to remove any
dust deposit. Make all the necessary
connection to the other machines in the line.
(See Main Lay-out).
4.6 CONNECTIONS

5A.1 Operator’s control panel

The washing machine is not provided with its

control panel as it is part of a complete line, so
that please refer to the manual of the general
control panel.

In any case the washing machine has 2 motors

as follows :
- Elevator
- Fan motor

The speed of the elevator motor is regulated

by a ratio motor

The speed of the other motors are fixed.

The speed of the vibration unit is adjustable

moving the internal part of the vibration mass.

- the machine has been accurately cleaned;

- all the blockages which may have been used

during transport have been removed and
nothing impedes the machine from moving
freely;

- all visible screws and bolts are well tightened,

as it is possible that whilst moving the
machine, some of them may have become
loose;

- all protection guards (electrical or

mechanical), fixed and movable, are installed
and operating in the right way;

- the direction of the electric motor rotation is

right;

- the mains voltage is the same as the one for

which the electric panel board has been set;

- the water plant is connected to the valve

which has to be open;

- the heating water circuit has been filled up;

Control if the rotation sense of the motor is

correct.

The belt motor have to move the belt in order

to extract the product from the water.

The fan motor has to push air in water

The motor pump have to push the water from

the service tank to the main tank

Open the water valve until the water level

arrive to the overflow exit; before to fill the
water control if the discharging water valves
are closed.

When the water level is reached you can start

the production.

6.1 CLEANING
CLEANING AND DISINFECTION
PROGRAMME
A periodical maintenance and cleaning are
necessary for the machine correct functioning
and long life.
It is advisable to predispose and inform the
personnel of a “Cleaning and Disinfection
Programme” which clearly specifies the
cleaning intervals, the products to be utilised
with the relative conditions (concentrations,
application temperature, contact time) and the
personal means of protection necessary in the
handling of these products and the steps to be
taken in an emergency (accidental contact,
spillage, etc.).
This information should be requested directly
from the Technical Service Department of the
detergent producers.
NOTE - A correct cleaning and
disinfection programme,

6.2 CLEANING OF THE MACHINE
At the end of each working day it is necessary
to accurately clean the machine, removing all
the remaining particles of product with water
and detergents (in the concentration
recommended by the detergent producer in
relation to the type of product to be
processed).
CAUTION - Carry out
the washing when the
machine is cold or, if
the machine has just
been turned off, use
water heated to the
temperature of the
machine, to avoid
danger of seizure.
These operations have the scope to remove all
the residues from processing and dirt in
general, which could favour the proliferation of
micro organisms.
If a complete disinfection is necessary the
disinfect-ant should be applied to the cleaned
and rinsed surfaces. We also recommend
these operations before starting after long
periods of inactivity.
WARNING - Make sure not to

caustic detergents (do not use
caustic soda). Do not heat the
washing liquid to a temperature
above 80°C.
SPECIAL CLEANING
At the end of a long period of working or before
a long stopping a strong cleaning is necessary.
We recommend using a high pressure water
cleaning machine and proceed as follows :
- Stop the machine and ensure that the power
supply has been disconnected.
- Wash the outside of the whole machine, take
care not to wet the motors; if it is necessary
cover them whit a plastic bag.
- Remove the grid and clean all the bottom.
- Start up the elevator and clean it.
- Finally wait until all the parts of the machine
are perfectly dry before reassembling
everything.
Note : if it is advisable to grease all the parts,
do it before starting the production again.
6.3 EXTRAORDINARY MAINTENANCE
Periodically check the oil level of the reducers
when not in function, and top it up with the
brand indicated on the same reducer so as to
achieve the correct level. Substitute the oil in
the periods indicated by the manufacturers,
using the correct quality of lubricant.

variators please respect the regulations that
have been indicated by the manufacturers.

LUBRICATION PROCEDURES

Make sure that the main switch on the control

panel is in position “O” before carrying out any
operations on the machine.

1) After each washing, grease all the

transmission parts and the greasing points.

2) At the end of the season, clean and wash

the machine. Grease all the chains and the
gearing and obviously apply grease to all the
greasing points.

The table below shows the points to be

lubricated, the timetable of work to be
respected and the quantity and quality of
grease to be used.

6.5 RECOMMENDED LUBRICANT

The indicated lubricant are suitable,

approximately, for a room temperature
included between 0 °C and + 30 °C

For a room temperature above this value adopt

a grade immediately above the one in the
table; for room temperatures below 0 °C, adopt

The synthetic lubricant may generally be

utilised in a wider range of room temperatures;
before using them in such conditions it is better
to ask the advice of the lubricant producers.

The conformity with the U.S.D.A. (United

States Department of Agriculture) regulations

suitable to be used in the points where there
may be accidental contact with food products;

- H2 indicates the non-toxicity of the residues

(fumes, vapours) emitted by the lubricant
themselves.

7.1 INTRODUTION 7.3 MACHINE DEMOLITION

All elements, objects or substances resulting
from human activities will at some time be
turned into waste following the natural
biological cycle.
Refuse is split into three main categories :
- Solid urban refuse : This category
comprises all refuse produced by human
activities such as paper, cloths, plastics, cans,
bottles, etc.
- Special refuse : This category comprises all
refuse produced by industrial manufacturing
processes (chemical industry, refineries,
tanneries etc.) light industries (car workshops,
small factories, etc.) farming activities (animal
husbandry, feed mills etc.) that may not be
mixed with urban refuse due to their quantities
and qualities.
- Toxic or harmful refuse : This category
comprises all toxic or harmful refuse that is
either contaminated or partly contains any of
the substances listed in DPR 915/82.
7.2 WASTE DISPOSAL
Special care must be taken with “Special” and
“Toxic or harmful” refuse.
This refuse must be disposed of in compliance
with directives applicable in the user’s country
on environmental protection;
To demolish and then scrap the machine in
your possession, please follow the follow
steps:
Disconnect the machine from the mains
electricity supply and compressed air supply.
With machine power supply off, check the
compressed air circuit is not pressurised.
Consult the authority responsible for the
registration and certification of demolished
machines according to the legal provisions
applicable in the country in which the machine
is installed.
Drain, store and consequently dispose as
provided for by law of the “Special” and “Toxic
or harmful” substances (oils, greases, liquid
coolants and lubricant, etc.) present in the
lubrication tanks and mechanical and
lubrication cooling (gear reducers, variable
speed gears, gearboxes, etc.)
Dismantle the machine making sure to divide
its component material by their chemical
properties (iron, aluminium, bronze, plastic,
wood etc.)
By following the legal provisions applicable in
the country in which the machine is installed,
scrap the various materials and dispose of the
various “Special” and “Toxic or harmful”
components.

Producers of “Special” or “Toxic or harmful”

refuse, must compile the loading / unloading
registers for the products that may due to
deterioration, machining or manufacturing
produce such substances;

“Special” and “Toxic or harmful” refuse may be

stored while waiting to be definitively disposed
of, in fixed or mobile containers that are
adequately strong and watertight and have
chemical and physical properties suited to the
degree of hazard of the refuse they contain.

Moreover, these containers must be equipped

with adequate danger signs (warnings, labels
and indications) required by law.

“Special” and “Toxic or harmful” waste must be

disposed of only by firms authorised and
specialised to treat chemicals specifically.
