to divide the medium into 2 channels, voice and data signals. The following sources are
to be transmitted on this inter-building link:

i. Determine the sampling rate of source 1~3.

ii. Channel of voice signals allows up to 64 kbps, determine the bit PCM per
sample of the channel.

iii. Assume for digital signals, 800 bps is required for each digital source to
perform pulse stuffing. Calculate the total bit rates for digital data channels
(10 marks)
iv. If the two multiplexed channels are to be fully utilized, determine the total
bit rate onto the transmission line.

v. The TDM equipment is considering to be installed about 25km away from
two locations so that one line will be needed. What cost factors should be
considered in the decision of A/D conversion system.
