READ AND
STRICTLY IMPLEMENT THE FOLLOWING REMINDERS SO BB CAN SCORE YOUR
WORK PROPERLY.
1. ROUND ONLY YOUR FINAL ANSWERS TO TWO DECIMAL PLACES.
2. WRITE AND BOX YOUR COMPLETE ANSWER (MAGNITUDE, UNIT,
SYMBOL-IF NECESSARY).
3. SOLVE USING GRESA (I POINT FOR GIVEN, EQUATION, SOLUTION AND
ANSWER)
4. DO NOT FORGET TO COMPILE ALL OF YOUR SOLUTION PAPERS IN PDF
FORMAT WITH NAMES OF GROUP MEMBERS.
5. EACH MEMBER OF THE GROUP SHALL ONLY ANSWER 3 QUESTIONS. 1
FOR PART 1A, PART 1B AND PART 2.
6. THIS PROBLEM SET WILL BE GRADED AS 2 PETAS
PART 1A: 2 POINT CHARGES
1. Calculate the force between two charges. Charge one is 12uC and charge two is
-14uC. They are separated by a distance of 15m. Identify the magnitude of the
force and write if it is an attractive or repulsive or repulsive force.
2. Solve for the distance between the two charges. Each charge has 35pC that is
repulsive in force. The force on the other hand has a value of 1.50 x 10 2 N
3. Solve for the missing first charge. There are two charges with a repulsive force
that has a value of 6.27 x 10-3 N. They are placed at a distance of 12cm. The
second charge is -7.30 x 10-9 N.
4. Solve for the missing second charge. There are two charges with an attractive
force that has a value of 83N. They are placed at a distance of 7.5m. The second
charge is -9 x 10-12 N.
5. Two like and equal negative charges are at a distance of 12m and exert a force
of 8.75 x 10-7 N on each other. Solve for charge one and charge two.
PART 1B: MULTIPLE POINT CHARGE IN A STRAIGHT LINE
1. Three-point charges are located on the positive x-axis of a coordinate system.
The First charge is 8nC which has a distance of 5cm away from the origin. The
second charge is 16nC which has a distance of 8cm away from the origin. The
third point charge is which is 12nC located at the origin. Determine the net force
on the point charge 1.
2. Multiple charges are located on the positive x-axis of a coordinate system. The
First charge is -5nC which has a distance of 2m away from the origin. The
second charge is -10C which has a distance of 8m away from the origin. The
third point charge is which is -17nC located at the origin. Determine the net force
on the second point charge exerted by the other two charges.
3. Three charges are located on the positive y-axis of a coordinate system. The
First charge is -16.0 uC which is located on the origin. The second charge is
6.0uC which has a distance of 0.6m away from the origin. The third point charge
is which is -8.0uC located 0.3m away from the second charge. Determine the net
force on the point charge 3?
4. Three-point charges are located on the positive y-axis of a coordinate system.
First charge has a magnitude of 6pc located at the origin. Second charge has a
magnitude of -1.50pc located 3cm away from the origin. Third charge has a
magnitude of -2pc located 2cm away from the second charge. Determine the net
force on charge 2.
5. Four-point charges are located on the positive x-axis of a coordinate system.
Each charge is 2uC with a distance of 4cm away from each other. Charge 1 and
4 is negative while charge 2 and 3 are positive. Determine the net force on
charge 4. (CLUE: Just pair them and solve using coulomb’s law before getting
the summation of force)
PART 2: CHARGES IN A TRIANGLE
1. A charge is located at the origin with charge of 10C. The second charge is -15C
that is 0.30 m NORTH of the origin. The third charge is -12nC that is 0.10m

2. A charge is located at the origin with charge of -5uC. The second charge is -10C
that is 0.30 m NORTH of the origin. The third charge is -15nC that is 0.10m
EAST of the origin. Compute the net electric force on the charge 1.
3. A charge is located at the origin with charge of 10C. The second charge is -15C
that is 0.30 m NORTH of the origin. The third charge is -12nC that is 0.10m
EAST of the origin. Compute the net electric force on the charge 2
