ADMITTANCE RULES for Master Students (5 ECTS)

In order to be admitted to the final exam of the STAT408 course and to get 5 ECTS in case of
passing the exam you need to fulfill these criteria:

1. Do not have more than three absences during the exercise lectures.
2. Complete at least 60% of all exercises assigned during the semester. If your solution
is wrong, it doesn’t matter but you should be able to present one.
3. At the beginning of the exercise lecture, you have to declare, which exercises you have
solved. Among the student who have solved the exercises, we select one or two
students – according to the length of the task – to present their solution to the class.
4. In case you’re not able to attend the exercise lecture, you can send your solution to
Lucas (lucasheinrich.kook@uzh.ch), at latest Monday 11 a.m..
5. There will be two mandatory submissions. You hand in your solution before the
exercise session and we will correct it. We will let you know which exercise sheets
have to be submitted early enough.
6. The exam will be in June (room tba)

In order to be admitted to the final exam of the STAT408 course and to get 3 ECTS in case of
passing the exam you need to fulfill these criteria:

1. Your syllabus includes the topics from lecture 1 to lecture 7 and the corresponding
exercise lectures.
2. Do not have more than two absences during the exercise lectures.
3. Complete at least 60% of all exercises assigned during the semester. If your solution
is wrong, it doesn’t matter but you should be able to present one.
4. At the beginning of the exercise lecture, you have to declare, which exercises you have
solved. Among the student who have solved the exercises, we select one or two
students – according to the length of the task – to present their solution to the class.
