The common final assessment for the ENG 102 course will be an interview. Your instructor will schedule
the interviews during the final exam weeks (June 20 – July 2), and you will choose an appropriate time
slot. The interviews will be conducted with your own instructor.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
You are expected to join the Zoom session 5 minutes before your interview time. You will
wait in the waiting room. Do not leave the meeting until your instructor admits you into the
session.
Students who do not attend the interview without a valid excuse (e.g. medical report) will
not be given a make-up.
Below are some guidelines regarding how the interview will be conducted:
A. Warm-up:
In this part, you will be asked some small talk questions.
B. Course Topics:
In this section, you will be asked questions related to the themes covered in the modules of the
coursebook. You will be tested on both the content, and your opinions (reactions/reflections) about the
subjects.
Example: Explain the concept of X from module 1/3. Do you agree with the writer’s argument? Why?
C. Essay:
In this section, you will be asked to reflect on the process you have gone through when writing your
essay.
Example: When writing the essay, what was the most difficult step? Why?
D. Student progress:
In this section, you will be asked to reflect on your own progress throughout the course.
Example: Which skill have you improved the most? Explain.
