How to Make Your Bed

1. If you own a bedskirt, begin by removing your mattress from the bed frame. Place the
bedskirt over your empty box spring and align the corners with the same orientation as
the bed frame. Place the mattress over the bedskirt.

2. Add a mattress topper by lining up the corners with the orientation of the mattress and
pulling the fabric over the corners. Most mattress toppers also have elastic bands attached
on the corners, allowing you to attach them to the mattress to prevent slippage.

3. A mattress protector comes next, which can be added by lining the corners up and
tucking the fabric beneath the mattress snugly.

4. The next layer is the fitted sheet, which can be laid over the top of the mattress in the
same orientation as before. Pull one of the sheet’s corners over the mattress before
repeating with the other three corners. Double check to make sure the seam on the sheet
is right side in.

5. You can optionally add a flat sheet next by laying it over the top of the mattress and
centering the sides of the sheet with the mattress. Place one end of the sheet under the
mattress and neatly fold the sides of the sheet underneath. At the opposite end, fold any
leftover fabric beneath the end of the bedding.

6. Lay a comforter or blanket over top by orienting it in a similar lengthwise fashion,

making sure there’s enough fabric to evenly cover the mattress. Fold the top end of the
blanket over to expose some of the sheets and keep the blanket snug against the bed.

7. Lastly, add pillows. Arrange them neatly at the top of your bed, leaning up against the
backboard or tucked beneath the top blanket.
