HOW HAS COVID IMPACTED YOUR EDUCATION?

It has been a very long two years of sitting at home and learning behind a screen.
It has brought backache, eyestrain and surprisingly even fatigue.
My parents had set up an ideal classroom for me in my bedroom, but how can it be an 'ideal
classroom' when I cannot even see and interact with my peers?

It all started when I was in the first grade, March 13, 2020. I was in my classroom when there
was a loud alarm at school and all teachers and students were told to gather in the auditorium
where that made announcement, telling us "from now teachers and students, our classes will be
online until further notice"
I was horrified. I didn't have my mother or father to look to for comfort at that time and so I
started crying.

Online classes commenced two days later up until January 5, 2022.

It felt as if I had even skipped grade two and now I'm magically in my final term of grade three.
How astonishing?
I know, I can believe it either.
COVID-19 has made me miss out on interaction with my classmates and getting to know each of
them, I didn't get in fully understand any of my past teachers throughout the time being spent at
home.

I had visualized what some of my classmates would look like and be whenever I'd get to see
them, but I was totally wrong. Everyone is different from I had imagined and I am still learning
about everyone and their likes and dislikes and because of COVID-19 and the sudden change in
transitioning back to school, no one really gets along.

This pandemic has robbed me of my first two years of primary school to make friends and
interact with the my classmates and teachers. I am a fast learner, so it did not get the chance to
rob me of my learning and understand, for which I am most grateful for.

I am now at physical school and I am still in the process of understanding my teacher and
classmates, I hope I get to soon because I would really like to be able to have new friends.
