Assignment 1:

Clearing your physical


and digital space

“TIDY SPACE, TIDY MIND”

The purpose of this assignment is to close the open loops, which contribute to background stress. Here
we’re clearing the way for new levels of progress and productivity, with less resistance.
Total time: 1-3 hours

Step 1
Post a screenshot of your desktop and email inbox in the Facebook group before you start.

Step 2
Inbox
For every email in your inbox or icon on your desktop, process every item with one of the following:
 Delete
 Process/action (<2 minutes)
 Delegate
 Follow-up

Physical desktop
Do the same for items and papers on your physical desktop

If the task would take less than 2 minutes to complete, do it now!

Step 3
Brain dump
30 minutes
 Set a timer for 30 minutes.
 Open a Word document or A4 paper
 Write down all commitments, tasks, things to do, scraps of paper, to-do lists, over all time frames off
the top of your head
 Include any tasks over 2 minutes from your desktop, inbox and to-do list

Step 4
Schedule
Allocate a time and ‘next action’ for every task on there, and schedule it into your calendar.
