1 Introduction
The intent of this document is to provide initial product information to resellers and managed print service
providers. It is not intended for end-user or customer use. The data contained within this document
reflects estimates made without actual field data and are intended as guidelines. Confidentiality and
nondisclosure agreements apply to the use of the information contained herein.
Actual product performance is dependent on several factors, including, but not limited to type of usage or
workflows environmental conditions, media types, and proper preventative maintenance.
Some maintenance and service parts are designed to be installed by the customer. In circumstances where
additional coverage is provided for HP products, a contract, HP Care Pack, or other service uplift options, refer to
the terms and conditions established by the service uplift document to determine how service for customer
replaceable parts will be managed.
NOTE: All service parts that are non-customer replaceable parts are required to be replaced by a qualified
service technician authorized by HP Inc. To be qualified a technician requires training for this product, take all
pre-requisite courses for the product, and pass the qualification test during the training.

2 Estimates for Print Usage, Volumes, and
Operational Cost Per Page
Learn about average monthly print volume (AMPV), recommended print volumes, maximum usage estimates,
and web-based reference tools for failures.
Average Monthly Print Volume (AMPV): The average number of images printed or copied per month.
In most cases, using the product within this range will ensure the most efficient total cost per page.
Maximum Monthly Usage (Duty Cycle): A term used broadly in the printer industry to communicate the
robustness of the device. It is the estimated maximum capability of the device.
2 Chapter 2 Estimates for print usage, Volumns, and Operational Cost per Page ENWW
Table 2-2 Transactional Product estimates (continued)
Operational Cost Per Page (OCPP): An estimate, based upon several factors, that can be used to provide a
general benchmark of the actual operational cost of using the product based upon selected page volumes,
consumable life, engine life, and other user entered data.
Because OCPP is based upon individual usage and service delivery models, OCPP might vary between user
environments. Authorized providers and support staff can use the following link to access the OCCP tool located
on Sales Central:
https://z.hpsalescentral.com
After opening HP Sales Central, access the tool by opening the following menus: Transact (at the top of the
page), Product Configuration, Configure, and then selecting Estimated OCPP.
The Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) is the average time required to remove and replace an individual part in the
product.
NOTE: MTTR does not reflect the time taken to validate the part and check if the system is working properly.
MTTR Service Parts is the average time required to replace an individual service part. These times are for
experienced and trained copier technicians.
MTTR Maintenance and Consumables is the average time required to replace a Maintenance part in the product.
NOTE: For individual parts MTTR, see the Service Parts MTTR table.
The following table provides the total time to repair (TTR) service parts:

● Product Life
Product Life
Print Engine Life
This is the number of pages the product was designed to perform at a given failure rate. The product will
continue to work past this number of pages; however, the MIBF will decrease as the product is used.
Actual engine life is dependent on several factors such as usage, environmental conditions, and proper
preventative maintenance.
Contractually based engines may offer enhanced life for some assemblies due to special firmware
maintenance or other product additions.
NOTE: When the product engine, ADF, or scanner has exceeded its rated life or has a regular extremely high
monthly usage above the recommended values, additional failures might occur. Potential failures include
mechanical failures, noises, squeaking gears and more frequent paper jams.
The rated life for each of the components is listed in the following table:
HP 147X High Yield Black W1470X W1470-67902 Black toner cartridge - 25,200 1
Original LaserJet Toner High yield
Cartridge
2x Pick-up rollers
(Engines)
2x Separation rollers
(Engines)
3x Separation rollers
(Stand)
1 Print cartridge life is approximate, based on average A4 /Letter-size page count with ISO coverage. Declared cartridge yield value in
accordance with ISO/IEC 19798. Actual yields vary considerably based on images printed and other factors. For more information, go to
http://www.hp.com/go/learnaboutsupplies.
2 Fuser and Roller life are approximate values. These values might vary with environment, usage, media type, and average print job size.
The parts strategy is a Field Replaceable Units (FRU) and lower level service parts within a FRU (where service is
possible to perform). Parts replacement instructions and videos for FRU’s and some lower level parts are
available in the product Service Manual.
Recommended service stock level (RSSL Stock): This term refers to the parts available in stock for a technician
servicing a product.
The following table provides the parts stock for a technician servicing the printers.

Installation Process
This product is designed to be customer installable. It requires two individuals to remove the product out of the
box and the packaging material. Additional installation requirements may vary by region or country.
In circumstances where additional coverage is provided for HP products, a contract, HP Care Pack, or other
service uplift options, refer to the terms and conditions established by the service uplift document to determine
how service for customer replaceable parts will be managed.
Installation instructions are in the installation manual of the product. These instructions are also available from
the On-site Install Guide at the following locations:
Hardware installation time: Approximately .75 to 1.25 hours, depending on the Input and Output configurations
Training
Service Authorization or qualification is required. To be a qualified service technician, you will need to take the
Web based training.
NOTE: HP FutureSmart Firmware training is required before attending the WBT training.
Training processes and availability vary by region/country. For details, refer the regional documentation.
This training is available on Grow@hp. The following table provides details of the training topics.

Guidelines
Consider the following points before installing the printer:
● Install the product on a level, flat surface that can support its size and weight.
Make sure that all four device feet are level. Ensure Input stabilizers are in the down position.
● Install the product where temperature and humidity are stable, with no abrupt changes (away from water
sources, humidifiers air conditioners, refrigerators, or other major appliances.)
● Install the product away from direct sunlight, areas that experience vibration, open flames ammonia
fumes, ultrasonic heaters, and devices that emit a magnetic field
If the printer is placed near a window, make sure that the window has a curtain or blind to block direct
sunlight. Ensure the window is closed, so the temperature and humidity levels inside the room do not get
affected by the outdoor environment.
Recommended specification
Consider the following points before installing the printer:
NOTE: Do not convert operating voltages. This can damage the device and void the product warranty.
Power Requirements 1 100 to 127 volts (± 10%) 220 to 240 volts (± 6%)
