1. Use of the article “THE”

You use “the” when you want to specify something. When you are talking about general things,
you don’t use the article “the”

Examples

 People have qualities and faults (All the people in the world)
 The people have bad manners when treating foreigners.

2. The use of MOST

You use most in superlative ideas and it is usually accompanied by the article “the” and followed
by an adjective. When you use superlative ideas with short adjectives, you do not use MOST but
instead you use the suffix -est

Example

Ferrari cars are the most expensive of all brands.

Elephants are the most big of all the animals. WRONG

Elephants are the biggest of all the animals

3. Most is also used as an adverb of quantity, meaning “LA MAYORIA”

 Most people are overcoming the virus.

Tag Questions

A tag question is a small question that is attached to the end of a sentence to verify or confirm
something or to come to an agreement. They mean something like: "Is that right?" or "Do you
agree?"

 You came by train, didn’t you?


 It’s very windy today, isn’t it?
 You can meet me at the station, can’t you?
 You couldn’t give me a ride, could you?

Specifically, the tag question is formulated based on the same tense expressed in the original
sentence. Also, If the sentence is positive, the tag is negative. If the sentence is negative, the tag is
positive, as in the example below.

 You didn’t tell him, did you?


 You couldn't lend me some money, could you?
 He never drinks alcohol, does he?
 Nobody left a message, did they?
