Pumps:Basics
..device that moves fluids (liquids or gases), or sometimes slurries,by
mechanical action, typically converted from electrical energy into hydraulic
energy.
Pump Mechanism….
It operate by… (typically reciprocating or rotary), and consume energy to
perform mechanical work moving the fluid
Rotary pumps are a type of positive displacement pump where for each revolution,
a fixed volume of fluid is moved. These pumps are self-priming and provide near
constant delivered capacity no matter the pressure.
Reciprocating pumps….
Liquid flows into the pump as the cavity on the suction side expands and the liquid
flows out of the discharge as the cavity collapses.
