Document Development Exposition: Workplace Correspondence

Explain in detail your document’s development from planning to finish, describing your
challenges, how you overcame them, and what you learned.

Planning
I was having difficulty picking a topic for inside an organization that was relating to volcanoes. I
eventually settled on writing for an energy organization about generating energy from volcanoes. I
thought it tied nicely into climate change and it gave me a lot to write about.

First Draft (for peer editing)

I was having difficulty finding enough information to meet the word count for the memo. To meet
this challenge, I did further research and found more source information to add to the memo.

Second Draft (for your packet)

I added a lot of information after peer review from another source that I found about geothermal
energy. I also added color which I thought made it more informal.

Final Draft (for your portfolio)

For the email and memo I worked on addressing them more as internal documents where before
they were too formal. The way I did this was buying addressing the funding of the research of
generating energy this way. I also addressed the email to one person, the chair of the organization.
