MAIYA: a free amigurumi pattern by tales of twisted fibers 1
Materials Instructions
• sock weight yarn in red, light peach, grey,
dark brown
• 2.5mm crochet hook
• Fiber fill
• Two 6mm black buttons
• Six 4mm flower buttons (3 yellow, 1 red, 1
green, 1 blue)
• Black sewing thread
• Yarn needle
• Small piece of white felt

Finished size: 5.5 inch

Terminology (US) LEG (make 2)


ch (chain) Round 1: With red yarn, 6 sc in a magic ring. (6)
magic ring (magic ring) Round 2: inc X 6. (12)
sc (single crochet) Round 3: (sc 1, inc) X 6. (18)
hdc (half double crochet) Round 4: dec X 6, sc 6. (12) Fasten off this color.
dc (double crochet) Round 5: Join light peach. Working in BLO, dec X 3, sc 6. (9)
inc (increase) Round 6-14: sc around. (9)
dec (decrease) Mark the second stitch in the next round and fasten
BLO (back loop only) off. Stuff.
FLO (front loop only)
sl st (slip stitch) Make the second leg following pattern from Round
1-14. In the next round, sl st in the next 4 st. Stuff.

Strap: Sew shoe straps on both feet with red yarn.


Attach 4mm yellow flowers at the end of the straps.

BODY
Round 1: In this round, we will join the legs. See Fig 1.

DRESS SLEEVE (make 2)
We will work top down, from the neck of the shirt to Round 1: With grey, 6 sc in a magic ring. (6)

EYES
Indent eye area: Count down from the top of the head
and mark a stitch between Round 10 and 11 (Fig 2).
From this point, count 7 stitches horizontally and mark
the 8th stitch (Fig 3). Thread a yarn needle with light
peach yarn. insert needle from the neck opening and
bring it out from one of the marked stitches (Fig 4). Push
the needle back in from the adjacent stitch and bring
it out from the stitch that is on the right of the next
marked stitch (Fig 5). Push the needle back in again from
the marked stitch, bringing it out from the neck opening
(Fig 6). Pull both the yarn ends tightly to indent the eye
area and secure the shape with a few knots.
