Syllabus of M.A. German Entrance Test

1. There will be all multiple choice questions with 4 options. The first part of questions of
20 marks is to test the General Knowledge and aptitude of the students.
2. There will be 80 marks reserved for questions testing knowledge of German language
and German Studies.
3. There will be 80 multiple choice questions with 4 choices of answers, each question will
carry 1 (one) mark each.
4. Each correct answer will get 1 mark and for each incorrect answer 0.25 will be cut.
5. Time: 2 hours for 100 marks (20+80)
6. Seats available for M.A. German : 30
7. Social Reservations are applicable as per Government rules.
8. Eligibility for M.A. German :
1. B.A. with German Special
or
2. Advanced Diploma with at least Grade B from SPPU or from any recognized
University and with Graduation in any faculty from any recognized University
or
3. C1 passed with Grade Gut from Goethe Institut /Mueller Bhavan and with
Graduation in any faculty from any recognized University

9. The 80 Multiple Choice questions specific to German Studies will be based on the
syllabus of B.A. German of the SPPU.
10. The distribution of 80 marks will be as per following areas:
i. Language Skills and Translation (Sprachgebrauch und Übersetzung) 16 marks/ 16
questions
ii. Adv. Grammar ( Grammatik) 16 marks/ 16 questions
iii. Culture and Civilization (Landeskunde) 16 marks/ 16 questions
iv. Literature (Deutschsprachige Literatur) 16 marks/ 16 questions
v. History and Geography of German Speaking countries (Geschichte und Geographie
deutschsprachiger Länder 16 marks/ 16 questions
